Re: line-in cable not recognized
You may have to turn on stereo mix. if You do that make sure your volume is turned down to 10% otherwise it will over diviate your recording. Try that or plug in the opposite ends into your devices hope this helps. I know the cord works because I went from comp headphone to a mic on a recorder and it works. I'm trying to go from the headphone jack of 1 device to the line in/mic in jack of my comp. The cable isn't showing up as recognized, and every time I try and record all I hear is hiss. What am I doing wrong? TV tuner cards, finally got one and I'm very happy!
Hi Everyone! I got myself a Leadtech TV tuner card on Wednesday and thus far I'm extremely happy with it, yes the access to the software could be a little better but at $120.00 for a HD tuner card? Well I guess you get what you pay for and (if you're patient and prepared to learn the software) then you can use many of the tuners features, I've only been playing with this for less than 3 days so I'm bound to keep finding out more. Firstly, if you're a Window-eyes or JAWS user then you're going to need to use the mouse pointer or JAWS cursor a fair bit to navigate around but my answer to this is simple, at least these 2 pieces of software provide you with the tools to navigate and when you use these tools, you'll find access to the software quite easy, let's take a small example. The PVR which comes bundled with this tuner has many shortcuts and they help, for instance if you load the PVR and press f9 the Scheduler pops up, move the mouse to the top left of the window and scroll down, the first button you come to is the Add button, scroll down again and you come to the edit button and so forth. Ok, click on the add button and a new schedule page appears, fill in the details as required such as starting time, ending time, channel and so forth, you can navigate the various combo edit boxes in the schedule page, once you've completed the page press ok, you'll have to find the ok button to quit the scheduler altogether with the mouse pointer but again that's not too difficult, something you can do with the find command. By default, video is captured from the tuner in MPG (uncompressed video) format so be prepared to use a fair bit of disk space but this has its advantages, you can compress the video to your liking or (if you have sighted assistance smile), you can perform editing jobs on what you've recorded. Well that's about as far as I've gone for now, I have the card on trial but I'm going to buy it, just for the scheduler alone I think its worth the money and the picture is absolutely superb according to people who have looked at it. This card will record both analogue and digital HDTV as well as FM radio but I've not even looked at this, I have enough FM radio devices in my house thanks very much and in any case, I prefer to use my Radio Shark from Griffin Technology as its far more convenient. I'll be happy to answer further questions if I can and (when I remember it) I'll supply the list with the model number of the card. Ah yes and before I forget to tell you, the card processes the video its recording on-board and it can start up your computer from standby or hybonate modes. ** Dane Trethowan From Melton Victoria Australia mailto:Dane Trethowan [EMAIL PROTECTED] phone +61 3 8732 9237 Fax/TTY +61 3 9743 7954 mobile/sms: +614 418 773 532 MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] skype: callto:grtdane12 ** Jonathan Mosen List Founder Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Can't seem to get XM Radio Online to play in Firefox 3
Hi folks The subject line pretty much says it. I've atempted to log into my account at http://listen.xmradio.com, which I can do just fine. However, when I launch the player and by either manually typing in a channel number in the edit box, or arrow down the page and just pressing enter on the channel number, I don't hear any audio. I know that XM Radio Online uses Windows Media as it's format for the stream, so I downloaded and installed The Windows Media plugin for Firefox 3, and I made sure it was enabled under tools/add-ons. It is, yet I still don't hear any audio. I do just fine in Internet explorer 7, but not Firefox 3. Any thoughts? BTW this doesn't seem to matter what screen-reader I use, I didn't think that was a factor but that's one of the common questions people always ask. So I've tried this using JAWS 9.0.2169, Window-eyes 7.0 beta 2, and System Access. Again, any thoughts, suggestions or ideas would be great! Thanks. Re: TV Tuner Card
Wow, thanks for the information Dane! Do you know or could you find out what PVR application you got with the card? Sometimes they package another company's PVR with their card. If that's the case, and I can find a trial of that application, I may be able to see if it works with my TV tuner card. the software that came with my TV tuner card seems a lot less accessible than the software you're describing. Chris, have you tried XM in Replay AV? If memory serves, which it doesn't always, you own a copy. I like using it for XM because I can skip the log-in part. Hi.
