Crossfade on the Nokia N82
Does anyone know of any software which will allow me to crossfade music on my Nokia N82 cell phone which will work with Talks? I did a search on the Internet, but didn't come across anything. Tim For which versions of iTunes and WE are those set files for? iTunes with ver 8 went through a major facelifting so those sets, if they are the old ones I am thinking of, aren't likely going to do anyone much good at this time and place. Note that Ver 8, when combined with WE7 or the Beta of JFW 10, is a vast improvement from a blind user standpoint over iTunes 7. Pam WMKV's podcasts must be grabbed with iTunes and cannot be subscribed with any other podcatcher. There are extensive archives for the Tuesday Computer Talk show you mentioned and, using iTunes, was able to grab a whole bunch of them. The difficulty, at this stage, seems that one has to use WE7's mouse keys in iTunes for this and a lot of it is hit and miss at this stage. This, I am certain, will be dealt with either on the iTunes side or through scripting. With ITunes and screen readers being a new marriage, time and patience both in the program's use and getting these issues ironed out is required. But yes, archives using iTunes can be grabbed most definitely; and this appears to be a worthwhile listen. Re: College sports via Internet radio?
Dean This is now very much a mixed bag. Yahoo College Sports continues to offer its subscription package though the number of schools included is diminishing. Also part of the package are a number of schools offering their feeds for free on the Yahoo website. Schools that are free include Florida, Tennessee, TCU, Texas, Richmond, Arizona, Middle Tennessee, North Carolina State, and Kentucky. To see a 7-day schedule, visit http://sports.yahoo.com/top/collegebroadcast CSTV also continues to also offer a subscription package which, at the moment, I am not all that familiar with. A number of teams stream via over-the-air stations. Examples that immediately come to mind are Michigan State wvia WJR Detroit; Miami via WQAM Miami; Florida State via WBOB Jacksonville; Florida via a number of stations including WWJB Brooksville and WFXJ Jacksonville; northwestern via WGN Chicago, and so on. Hope others can expand on this answer and if you, Dean, get a number of replies perhaps you can summarize your findings via a post here and in a Top Tech Tidbits item. I use my 6800 as a music player, although I do have two very major complaints about it. First, I usually use it with Bluetooth with some very nice Plantronics Bluetooth stereo headphones I got about 15 months ago, but yes, that does help drain one's battery, even if it's the higher-capacity one. Second, I'm not a fan of Windows Media Player, and that's all you get on WM6. Where the heck is Winamp for WM6 is what I want to know. There are other choices, but none as accessible as WMP, clunky and slow to respond as it is. RE: Making Recordings Of On-line Audio Files
Mike, Yes, the show is a very fine one. The topics are varied, and some shows are of more interest than others. As I said, it was originally geared to the senior, potentially slightly intimidated computer user, so sometimes the treatment is very simplistic. These guys are not computer pros, but folks who use the computer in their everyday lives. As an aside, if you listen to enough of them you'll probably hear me, Dave, or both of us. We actually visited WMKV last July as we were in Louisville for the ACB convention, taking a bus up and back to meet them in Cincinnati. Having said all this, let me assure all that I receive no money for plugging the station or their offerings. I just believe in and support their operation. Best Regards, Cornell From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: Burning audio discs Date: Mon, 29 Sep 2008 19:03:18 -0400 When I try to burn an audio disc, after pasting the files in the temporary folder and opening the wizard, pressing the NEXT space bar, the burn begins immediately in a beta format. I previously burned 6 audio discs with the audio-beta selection. I found nothing on the drive properties to restore the audio-beta selection. I am using Windows Media 11 and Jaws 8. Help anyone??
