Audible files and sound taxi
I have successfully converted some .wma files using Sound Taxi platinum 1.3 something. Although it is my understanding that Sound Taxi can be used to convert Audible files, I have thus far not been successful at such conversions. I would therefore appreciate it if someone would outline step by step this procedure. Thank you. To do this, go into my computer, select the tools menu, and then select map network drive. Press shift tab and in the combo box select the drive letter you want, then in the edit field, type the path to the folder on the other PC that you want to map. For example: If the other computer is called test1, and you want to map the audio folder, you would type \\test1\audio If you did this, you could add files from the other machine to your playlist, just as if they were on your own PC. Station Playlist, revisited
Hi all Would it be possible for you to stream audio from one pc with SPL loaded, to another pc, also with SPL loaded, on the same network, just as you would do from the pc to a server? Hi Kevin, Some clarification please. Are you trying to paste audio at a particular point, or mix two bits of audio together? Jonathan Mosen List Founder Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks, I will give this a try. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Barry Chapman Sent: Tuesday, November 04, 2008 12:32 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: mp3 direct cut Hi Jim, What I do is: 1. Select the beginning and end of the selection with B and N, as you have done. 2. Select normalize with ctrl+m. 3. Tab to the up/down slider. For me, with JAWS, it shows values such as 39%. I'm not sure what those percentages mean, but up and down arrow will increase or decrease the volume. You can't actually hear the results of your change until you press enter on OK, then play the file around your change. If it is not right the first time, you can make a further adjustment. I hope this helps. I have parts of the file I need to raze the audio level. So I find the part I want to change and mark the beginning with the keyboard hotkey (B) and end of it with (N) and when I use the control up or down arrow to change the gain it takes effect on the entire file. What am I doing wrong? Using mp3 direct cut version 2.09 Thanks. Re: mp3 player
I don't recall any off the shelf media player being mentioned that came with built in speech. I wonder if you're thinking about the iPod Nano 4th Generation. Using iTunes on your PC you can set it up to speak the menus to you and record sound clips of the files and directories you have on the player, which will be used to speak these to you.
