Re: Streaming Audio Software

If you want to use Winamp, you can get the EdCast plugin, which is
accessible with JAWS, Window-Eyes etc from www.oddsock.org.

I tried using winamp with poor results.

 Subject: Streaming Audio Software

I need some good suggestions for accessible software so I can stream
audio from my PC to a server where it will be webcast. Someone
suggested the plug in for Winamp. As Winamp is very accesible I figured
the plug in would be also. Boy was I wrong!! Neither the alt or tab
keys did anything!! Trashed around with it for nearly an hour and gave
up on it as a bad job. I sure hope someone on this list can help. As
ACB radio is streamed by other blind D J's then such software obviously
exists. Any help will be most appreciated.

 Thanks!

Re: Streaming Audio Software

2008-11-18 Thread Robert doc Wright
Just so I make myself clear. I'm looking for something that I can run on my pc
that will allow me to pull up a page from another computer and listen to music
that I have the program pointed to. I have one called mp3 mystic but it is no
longer working and the programmer is no longer supporting it. this program
would create links for all mp3's in a folder then create a web page for
streaming.

Re: Converting MP3 to standard CD format

2008-11-18 Thread Roger Stewart
This is fairly easy. If you want to use CDex you just put all the mp3's
you want to make to an audio CD into your MY Music folder for CDex.
This might be different than the My Music that is in My Documents but
you can set this target folder to whatever is convenient for you. Once
all your mp3's are in the folder you just start CDex and hit the F12
key. This converts mp3 files to WAV. Once you have all the WAV files,
just put them into your CD burning software and make the CD.
Personially I prefer to do this with Nero as that program will take mp3
files and make the audio CD for you without you needing to convert them
at all. If you need to edit the files first, such as trimming some
dead air from beginning or end of each file, cleaning up some noise or
clicks if the source was tape or LP then use something like Goldwave.
This is a sound editor that is very accessible and will not only edit
but you can then save the files in any format you like. Just save them
as WAV, 16 bit signed stereo and you can then make audio CD of those.
Hope this helps.

Extracting a Range

2008-11-18 Thread Bruce Toews
Okay. Here's the deal. I have Exact Audio Copy and Easy CD-DA Extractor at
my disposal, and I can't figure out how to do what I want with the latest
version of either.

I have a disk with twenty tracks on it. I want to extract the first ten
tracks as a single file. With the latest version of Easy CD-DA Extractor,
I can't figure out how to select the tracks, and with Exact Audio Copy I
can't figure out how to select only part of the disk for an extraction
range. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: putting songs on to a mp3

2008-11-18 Thread Roger Stewart
Well, I don't know just what Hal is but most mp3 players have a USB
interface port and come with a USB cable. All you do is connect the
player to a USB port on a computer that has the mp3's you want on the
player. You just select them and do a ctrl-c then alt tab to your
player (it should just appear as a removable disk drive) and do a ctrl-v
to paste the songs onto the player. Just that easy! When you tire of
what's on it, just delete them and repeat the process to put on new
material anytime you wish.

Hi Roger,

Do you want this software to be free? If so, as someone has already
suggested, oddcast along with a few DSP plugins is probably your best bet.
But if you are willing to pay a little cash then my suggestion would be
Station Playlist Studio. It is very speech friendly and is probably for
value the best broadcasting software for your buck.
