You can also normalize files in CDEX when ripping.  To do this:

1. Press F4 to bring up the CDEX configuration.

2. Ctrl+tab to the generic tab.

3. Tab to the Normalize Volume checkbox and check it.

4. Tab once to enter the percentage to which you wish to normalize.  I would 
suggest setting it to something in the early nineties.
