Subject: Digital Recorders

Hi!

I haven't been following this thread till now so please excuse me if what
I'm about to say has already been mentioned.

If you by chance own an Iphone or New Ipod Touch then you already have a
digital recorder right there in the palm of your hand, the Iphone has a
built-in microphone but you can purchase a stereo microphone according to
the Iphone User guide and that's where the fun starts and the Iphone
becomes even more amazing than you already thought and knew it to be
smile

The Iphone comes with a Voice Memo recorder which does what it was
designed to do well so let's take the art of recording to a whole new
level on a mobile device with Voxie Recorder Pro for $2.50 Australian from
the Itunes Store, connect your stereo mic and you're away recording at a
maximum sampling rate of44.1KHZ stereo if that's what you need.

Voxie Recorder Pro has many settings and features including Express
mode, shake the Iphone to start and stop recording, you hear a tone from
the phone when recording starts or stops. If you want to use the software
for just voice recordings then take advantage of the transcription
services offered by the software.

Recorded something and you wish to transfer it to your computer or
computers via your network or via the Internet through the world? No
problem, record and share With Voxie Recorder Pro.

Still finding out mroe about this software as I play with it more.

Cheers

Re: digital recorders

2009-12-21 Thread Jörgen Hansson

Hey there!
I'm just wondering what pocket recorder are you all talking about? Well, I
have heard very much of the Olympus DM520 and such, but what is that pocket
rugged? Just curious.
Actually, I haven't seen the olympus DM520 model, but I have seen the
olympus DLS10, that's an Ok recorder, but if you don't want to have menus
which don't wrap, maybe the Edirol r09 or r09hr works great for good
recordings.
I have compared the r09 and r09hr, and to my surprise, the hr model sounds
much better and it's builtin mike pre-amps noise is much less than the
original r09 model.

Jörgen Hansson!

Actually the Olympus DM series is more a music than a voice machine -

the M in its name. Though it isn't semi-pro in its recording capabilities.

I am interested, though, Have you personally used and compared both
machines?

I agree that the audio quality on the Pocket, if you add external mics may
be superior, but it is much much larger than the Olympus and its in-built
mike capabilities I think are inferior to the Olympus.

As an all-rounder player and recorder, the Pocket has much to offer, but
it

is less convenient for quick recording tasks. the Olympus comes in to its
own as a 'take-anywhere' real pocket-sized recorder, with excellent
balance

of features and quality for high-quality voice capture.

I've just received notification that a new version of Total Recorder is out.
In the notes it advises that the interface has been redesigned. This always
rings alarm bells for me as it often means that products that were once

Yes, the Ipod Touch is fully accessible or as accessible as the

 Hi!

Okay, I've had a few private emails about the email I sent earlier
discussing the Iphone, everything I discussed also applies to the latter
versions of Ipod Touch both 32 and 64GB versions so as you can see! you
can have yourself quite a little cheap and accessible digital recorder
 smile.

Hear it. Like it. Buy it. dmg launches iTunes tagging

2009-12-21 Thread Dane Trethowan

Hi!

This is of interest to people living in one of the major cities of
Australia, at this time I'm not able to get more information on the
scheme than presented below.

dmg has launched a long anticipated new service for those listening to
Nova or vega
stations across Australia on the 5th generation iPod nano from Apple
with the promotional
tag
“Hear it. Like it. Buy it.’
The new service allows listeners access to title and artist information
for songs
playing on the FM radio built into the iPod nano, as well as ‘tag’ songs
they like
with the press of a button.

Okay, I'm not sure about the pricing of the PTP but the 32GB Ipod Touch with
Voiceover starts from around $150.00. No, DAISY books won't play on the
Ipod Touch at this time but are we talking players or recorders?

Yes, the Ipod Touch is fully accessible or as accessible as the developers
of applications such as Voxie Recorder Professional choose to make their
applications, all the functionality is in the Ipod Touch or Iphone so its
just a matter of pointing this out to the developers should the need arise
and - thankfully - with Voxie, their's no need for this.

Re: Digital Recorders

2009-12-21 Thread Dane Trethowan
I'm not sure of that as its something I've not needed to bother with,
there's no ALC.

Perhaps for more advanced tasks like that you may wish to look at some
of the docking solutions for Iphone and Ipod Touch which allow
connection to musical instruments and other studio sources.

Hi!

I haven't been following this thread till now so please excuse me if what
I'm about to say has already been mentioned.

If you by chance own an Iphone or New Ipod Touch then you already have a
digital recorder right there in the palm of your hand, the Iphone has a
built-in microphone but you can purchase a stereo microphone according to
the Iphone User guide and that's where the fun starts and the Iphone
becomes even more amazing than you already thought and knew it to be
smile

The Iphone comes with a Voice Memo recorder which does what it was
designed to do well so let's take the art of recording to a whole new
level on a mobile device with Voxie Recorder Pro for $2.50 Australian
from the Itunes Store, connect your stereo mic and you're away recording
at a maximum sampling rate of44.1KHZ stereo if that's what you need.

Voxie Recorder Pro has many settings and features including Express
mode, shake the Iphone to start and stop recording, you hear a tone from
the phone when recording starts or stops. If you want to use the
software for just voice recordings then take advantage of the
transcription services offered by the software.

Recorded something and you wish to transfer it to your computer or
computers via your network or via the Internet through the world? No
problem, record and share With Voxie Recorder Pro.

Still finding out mroe about this software as I play with it more.

Cheers

Re: Total Recorder 8.0

2009-12-21 Thread Chris Hallsworth
No but there is now a filter driver which is actually not a driver
according to the system; in fact, it doesn't even appear as a device to
the system. Instead only Total Recorder can see and interact with the
driver. This supposedly eliminates problems with the kernel mode driver,
which is still available but is not installed by default in this
version. Hope this helps.

An audio editing beginner

I'm starting from ground zero insofar as this kind of thing is concerned.
At some point, I would like to put some of my records and cassettes onto the

useable format as well.

I'm thinking if I got both Goldwave and Total Recorder I should be set.

Is this correct or will both of them do the same thing; I do not wish to be
redundant.

RE: Windows media player 11 and jfw 11

2009-12-21 Thread Jason Boston
When I hit control+insert+t it shuffles the repeat mode on and off. Very
weird.

Unfortunately, insert+ctrl+T has always just worked for me using wmp 11,
and Jaws 10 and higher,

David.

orginal message:
Never seems to work too well. Do I need to change some setting in WMP to
make it easier for JFW to read the track
