This might be a stupid answer. At least a nontechnical one.
1 John Denver has put out several acoustic versions of his songs.
2 If you are internet savi u can find chord files for guitar. This is
similar to tabliture files but only has chords. It can be a process
but the chords can be read by your screen reader or if you're lucky
enough to have a braille printer or display you can read the chords.

I hope I'm not getting ahead of myself.
Anyway a couple of work arounds i thought might help.

No, because what you have is a final compressed track. if you can get
your hands on the master recording then you wil have that option.
with equalization you can enhance certain instruments based on how
much that track was in the fore front.

Identifying an SB audigy sound card

2010-01-04 Thread Frank Ventura
Hi all, I have a Dell PE sc440 desktop here with a Sound Blaster Audigy
PCI sound card. There are four 1/8 inch jacks on the card. If I look at
the jacks going left to right does anyone know what each jack is for?
Also I have a 5.1 speaker system with three 1/8 inch male inputs. Can
this card drive that sort of speaker system?

space bar on this and you can pick your folder where converted files will be

Hi Brett. Sonar is a top piece of software that delivers both in the audio

Vicky: I think the lead Guit would likely be recorded on the same track as
the bass and drums. I have been trying to break down leads by loading a
song, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana etc... into GoldWave. Then I open the
file and use the effect called TimeWarp to slow the song down without
changing the pitch to about 70 percent the speed of the original. All the
instruments are still there but it is easier to break out the note for
note playing that way. That method is still really time consuming since
allot of the leads are so fast that they are still really dificult but at
least it is doable. If I slow down beyond 60 pct or so the song gets
pretty garbled and that is not good either. My guess is there is some way
to slow down a song to perhaps 50 percent and either keep a song clean or
something might be able to clean it up but I don't know what might be used
since I am new to all this stuff myself.

Total Recorder implements a special driver that captures output directly
from the sound card. GoldWave will record from whatever recording

Have you tested out that program? I can do it with GoldWave but the
sound gets garbled at a rate of about 50 percent for fast playing like
fast guitar licks. My problem is the fact that the notes become garbled
and they run together some. Have you used this program and, or,
GoldWave to try this slow of a recording change?

Vicky: I think the lead Guit would likely be recorded on the same
track as the bass and drums. I have been trying to break down leads
by loading a song, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana etc... into GoldWave.
Then I open the file and use the effect called TimeWarp to slow the
song down without changing the pitch to about 70 percent the speed of
the original. All the instruments are still there but it is easier to
break out the note for note playing that way. That method is still
really time consuming since allot of the leads are so fast that they
are still really dificult but at least it is doable. If I slow down
beyond 60 pct or so the song gets pretty garbled and that is not good
either. My guess is there is some way to slow down a song to perhaps
50 percent and either keep a song clean or something might be able to
clean it up but I don't know what might be used since I am new to all
this stuff myself.

1 John Denver has put out several acoustic versions of his songs.
2 If you are internet savi u can find chord files for guitar. This
is similar to tabliture files but only has chords. It can be a
process but the chords can be read by your screen reader or if
you're lucky enough to have a braille printer or display you can

This might be a stupid answer. At least a nontechnical one.
1 John Denver has put out several acoustic versions of his songs.
2 If you are internet savi u can find chord files for guitar. This is
similar to tabliture files but only has chords. It can be a process but
the chords can be read by your screen reader or if you're lucky enough
to have a braille printer or display you can read the chords.

I hope I'm not getting ahead of myself.
Anyway a couple of work arounds i thought might help.

No, because what you have is a final compressed track. if you can get
your hands on the master recording then you wil have that option. with
equalization you can enhance certain instruments based on how much that
track was in the fore front.

Is it possible to either be able to listen to or record just the voice
and guitar from my CDS of John Denver? I feel I could do a much
better job of picking out songs, if I wasn't distracted by other
instruments.

Many thanks! Vicky

Re: adobe audition 1.5 jaws scrips problem

2010-01-04 Thread G. McFarlane

Hi Dan
I did get them working beyond Jaws 7, certainly to version 9 and possibly
10.
I found that they only worked if I made sure that they were in the Jaws
settings - not the ones in 'All Users' but in the Jaws settings in my own
profile in Documents and Settings. (This was in XP home) Maybe this is the
problem. They did not work if I had 2 versions - I had to remove all the
script files for Audition in the 'All User' jaws settings and only have
them in my own user settings.

Subject: adobe audition 1.5 jaws scrips problem

Hi All,
I tried installing the jaws scrips for audition 1.5 using jaws 10.
this is what I did and now have problems opening adobe audition because I
tried switching to miulti-track mode once.

1.
copied all the files inside the jfwaudition1.0beta5.zip file to my JFW
settings, enu directory .

2. I was told that I would need to open both audition.jss and audtips.jss
separately in JFW script

manager and press control+s to re-compile them.

I did that with the audition.jss file. But I could not find the
audtips.jss file to recompile it.

3. Opened audobe audition and everything worked. Until, I tried pressing
f12 to switch to multi-track view. But it will work with window-eyes. So
it is something in the scripts. Does anyone have some ideas or now where
to get some scripts to fix the problem. Now

The authors of this version of scripts are:
Authors: James Teh, Victer Tsaran and Michael Curran.

If any of these people perhaps is on the list maybe they can email me and
I will work with them off list as not to clutter up the list.

I could uninstall all the audobe audition scrips but I think it can be
fixed. I am just the crazy one who probably didn't follow directions
correctly.

Any help would be great appreciated.

Re: Is it possible?

2010-01-04 Thread RicksPlace
Vicky: I think the lead Guit would likely be recorded on the same track as
the bass and drums. I have been trying to break down leads by loading a
song, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana etc... into GoldWave. Then I open the file
and use the effect called TimeWarp to slow the song down without changing
the pitch to about 70 percent the speed of the original. All the instruments
are still there but it is easier to break out the note for note playing that
way. That method is still really time consuming since allot of the leads are
so fast that they are still really dificult but at least it is doable. If I
slow down beyond 60 pct or so the song gets pretty garbled and that is not
good either. My guess is there is some way to slow down a song to perhaps 50
percent and either keep a song clean or something might be able to clean it
up but I don't know what might be used since I am new to all this stuff
myself.

Hi Bret and others who have set me suggestions as to how I could listen to
the guitar parts of songs. Although the cords would be helpful, what I
really want to do, is to copy to the best of my ability, what the lead
guitar is doing.

I think the multitrack recorder/player, is what will work for me.

Again, thanks all!
