Gold Wave

2010-09-09 Thread Paul (Pawel) Loba
Hi all:
I know, I still need to learn a lot but can you tell me this:
In GW, Is there a 'go to time feature and what is the shorcut key, please?
I'd like to tell GW that I want to go quickly, let say, to the 14 minute and
25 second of my recording, what is the quickest way to do it, please?
Best,
Pawel.

Ok, now I see how you mean, well, then the new zoom h1 is a good thing,
cause it doesn't have menus, and it's very simple to use.

if you go to blindcooltech.com, you'll hear a good podcast on this recorder.

   hi listers
here is my situation.
right now when I record my sessions I usually record them on to a cd, and
if I need to make a copy and I want to turn it in to an mp3 I have to use
cdex to shrink it down. that's not really the problem.
I am looking for a machine that would let me record straight from the
source. I want it to be a single stand alone recorder that would record in
stereo and that would be able to go in to my system. I would like
something with a hard drive if there is such a thing. that way I could
edit from the recorder and not use so many cd blanks unless I need to.

any way list thanks so much.
all assistance would be appreciated.

Re: Strange Windows Media Thing

2010-09-09 Thread Colin r . Howard
Greetings,

I have come to this thread which started in May 2010 and note people have
not included a couple of obvious facts.

I've had the problem of a media stream continuing, after I've closed the
player, so nowadays, when I wish to stop a stream, I do ctrl-s then close
the player - works **every** time with WMP11.

The other factor is, when over the listen link, whatever format it is, why
not go into your applications menu to save target as and look to see the
format in which the target is saved. If the extension is .ram, you know
it's real player, if .asx media, .m3u .pls WinAmp. If it is an .htm
extension, it is likely to be a proprietory player used by the station.

Just a few thoughts.

What Robert says will work if you have JAWS running in the system tray.
If not, when focussed on JAWS, you can press alt+U to go to
the Utilities Menu. The desired sound card should be in the Sound Cards
sub-menu. If it isn't, it might be turned off in BIOS and

you will need sighted help to turn it on.

Is This Possible?

2010-09-09 Thread Tom Kaufman
I probably should post this to the Total Recorder' list! But since it was kind
of brought up over here, I'm gonna go ahead and ask my question here: a few
days ago, I saw some posts that sound like it is possible to record an internet
stream, using Total Recorder..and not have Jaws interfere with the recording.
Is this correct? Or have I misunderstood something? I know it can be done
with two sound cards; what I'd love to be able to do is to have
something..we'll say recording something from an audio stream..but still be
able to use the computer, thus, Jaws would be heard..but not on the recording;
can this be done with just one sound card? Hopefully I've made myself clear
enough--smile..thanks for listening.
