recormended Sound Font player.

2011-02-12 Thread Nick Adamson

Hi All.

please excuse the cross posting.
I'm trying to find an easy to use, screen reader accessible sound font
player.

I'm currently using syfon1, a version of synth font. Mostly its accessible
but I can't work out how to change the sound font and selected instrument
for each channel. I did look at synth font but the UI is just a little busy.
I'd be more than happy if people have some tips to make either of these
beasts easier to use.

If not I'm after a player which:
1. can do real-time, or near real-time playback so I can record against it.
2. can take input from a midi in device, I'm currently using a virtual midi
cable from my sequencer, QWS.

3. Must support ASIO.
4. cheep, or better still free.
5. Work on windows xp and/or 7.

Any ideas gratefully received.
Thanks.
Nick.

I don't know if this info found you so I will try it again.

Clear kote makes a really good cd cleaning product
called Disk Restorer.
. I have heard of a product called CD Dr. I have used both Armerall and
tooth paste. I think cleaning a cd really good with dawn is a really good
solution. I have used the clear kote disk restorer on CDs that wouldn't even
boot up and it worked great restoring the Boot table of the cd.
If I fix a cd I make a coppy of the cd to back it up.
I would say that Tooth paste is the most unlikely method of cleaning a cd.
Armerall works but who knows how much dust you will trap on the cd at a
later time.
But I love the clear kote.
If you can't find a cleaning product at your local record store Give
this product a try.

Re: Software to Convert mp3 to aac

2011-02-12 Thread Gianluca Apollaro

Hi list,
for converting files i use a software called dBpoweramp Music Converter,
very easy to use and can even convert multiple files at a time. for the
fact that winamp can't play the aac files you got, try analizing them
with media info.

Newer versions of Switch have some accessibility issues when tabbing

think you'll find you can get to everything you need. BTW, I don't
have a problem clicking on the interface buttons with the JAWS cursor.
In other words, tabbing around the interface and using the space bar
or the enter key on different buttons can lead to unexpected results.
Using the JAWS cursor to simulate mouse clicks on the different
buttons works just fine.

selection capability in here anywhere. This apparently is not a
program for beginners.

Hey.

You can use Switch, an all-purpose file converter that supports a
variety of formats. Try this page for a quick download:
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html
Make sure to pay attention when installing as it'll offer to install
other programmes and change your start page if you don't uncheck all
the boxes. heheh

But why would you want to downgrade the quality of your music? Maybe
you know this already, but you really should keep it at 256k if you
want the sound reproduction to be closer to the actual recording.

_SUMMARY_
X-Antivirus: AVG for E-mail 8.5.449 [271.1.1/3436]

Hello, I am new to this list, and new to audio software, so I hope
I'm not rehashing a recently covered topic.

I'm using Window Eyes 7.2 on a Vista Home Premium machine. I buy
songs and albums from Amazon at 256kbps mp3 and I want to convert
them to 128kbps aac. A friend of mine says that Quicktime will do
it, but that it only works on one track at a time. Is there
something I can get that's accessible and that will do an album at
a time?

Thanks for any advice.

Evan

Re: Win Amp won't play more than one file, of an album, at a time!

2011-02-12 Thread Gary Schindler
I think a setting got changed. it has to do with playing a bunch of songs
manually or at once like in a playlist. that happened to me once, so I
checked whatever it was and winamp play the songs or album one after the
other. try looking in the playback preferences for this.

Dear Listers,

I have a different problem, than Evan has! My Win Amp version 5.581,
using

XP Home, with JAWS 12, will only play one file at a time. I had thought
that Control A would do the trick, but, it must be a preference setting,
right? I may have my preferences screwed up -- I just don't know! In
Windows Media Player, Control A does the trick, gaplessly; why not Win Amp
5.581? Did the developers trick this out too much or am I missing
something, in preferences?

Any help appreciated,

-Mac-

2011-02-12 Thread hotscot72
Hey guys, I have a similar Issue with Winamp, so much so I have now decided
to uninstall the program.

When trying to play an entire album, the play button in the context menu
would not press at all. This did not happen everytime I played an album, but
it was annoying at times.
Not really sure if this is an Issue with Winamp or jaws 11. I'm also using
windows7,

Wonamp should play moe than 1 file if you slected with control a in the
folder of the album that's not good. maybe something didn't install right.
