Re: Question about the accessibility of the Kindle DX?

Hi
I have tried a few subscriptions for newspapers and they work really well,
better than books really. You can select a section such as news then even
select particular articles. Haven't managed to go to particular chapters
of books yet.

thanks

Amadeus Pro, Questions Concerning Major Update

2011-06-27 Thread Larry Naessens
For more than a year I've been using the Mac audio editor called Amadeus Pro.
Now, I understand that the program has gone through a major update to version
2.0. The cost to update is $40, which is no problem, but before spending the
money I want to be certain that the updated program continues to work extremely
well with voiceover, as did the previous editions. Has anyone purchased the
update yet? If so, what do you think of it?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I also recommend new TR users play around with the recording
Wizard. It's a good way to get some work done right off because the
program can be rather daunting for some from the get go. I believe
one can access the recording Wizard from the tools menu, at least
that's where it is in my version, which is 6 pro. HTH Norma

Play around with it for a few days. Then if you need specific
advice, just ask. It's on-topic for this list.

Hello,

I am aware that you guys have been speaking of the program Total Recorder
on/off. Can someone get back to me, off of this list so that we don't bug
people with this subject? I am about to get Total Recorder, and I'm a JAWS
12 user. I'd like some pointers, getting started advice, etc. I don't even
know if there are any tutorials on the subject.
Thanks.

Steve,

I've never had the problem, leaving TR recording, when stream restarts or is
restarted, has always, so far, picked up either where it left off or where
the stream starts.

Hope somebody else can be of more use.

Re: Amadeus Pro, Questions Concerning Major Update

2011-06-27 Thread Jim Noseworthy

Larry:

As a former user of GoldWave and SoundForge for the PC, I'm anything but
impressed. For example: I know of no way to move the playback head bassed
on the zoom in/out functions except to rout the playback head to the editing
cursor via Command-Shift-Y. Then again, I haven't been able to garner a
response to my questions concerning this matter. As it stands, editing,
with this program, appears to be a mainly visual thing supported by audio
rather than the other way around.

You might want to consider sound Studio.

pyramix 7

2011-06-27 Thread Dave Bahr

Hi list,

I have found out that a place I want to intern for next summer uses
software called pyramix. Has anyone ever used this before? I hadn't
heard of it at all before today. If you have used it or have heard of
others who have used it, do you know about its accessability or
inaccessability? I'm a window-eyes user, but at some point accessability
either is there or it's not, if you can't access the menu bar of an
application, like you can't in diamond cut v8, then it's not accessible,
period. Anyway, enough of my ranting, just thought I'd throw this out
there.

The Wizard is a good thing to use all right. I was a little afraid of it at
first, because the manual says it may change some settings, even if you
cancel. But I found out. It's pretty useful, and I'm getting a lot out of
total recorder now.

I just discovered cue sheets. I have a favorite Internet radio station that
presents titles. I couldn't figure out how to get it to make separate tracks
for each song using split mode. Then one day I accidentally pressed control
tab and found I was in the cue sheet and that I could manipulate songs from
their and all the titles were showing. So I was very pleased with that

Re: Total Recorder

2011-06-27 Thread Adrian Mathew

Hi.
I recently had Total Recorder installed but haven't really sussed it out
properly.
I'm wondering how it actually works and is it as easy as using conventional
recording equipment.

I've also had trouble accessing and reading the manual.
Regards,
Adrian.
