Yep, power DVD right? Real question is where do you buy it? -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of randy tijerina Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2013 11:23 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: RE: an accessible dvd playing software I wonder if any older versions will work with windows 7? tAt 10:17 PM 2/28/2013, you wrote: Power DVD is frinendly enough with DVDs. Especially the older versions of it. The younglings on the other hand, not so much. But you have the easiest one to use right now and don't even realize it. You hav 2 very good options already. WMP, AKA Windows Media Player and WMC AKA Windows Media Center. Now of the 2, I'd use WMP more. One thing to note, you'll have to use Narrator since it'll see the Mirror driver as a second display, think you are a pirate that just wants to coppy it, and won't bring it up. It works very well though. I perhaps should do a pod cast on using WMP as a DVD player at some point. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of randy tijerina Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2013 10:21 PM To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: an accessible dvd playing software hello everyone, i'm back online. i'm using windows 7 My xp machine croaked. connecting surroundsound speakers to computer?
Hello, I was looking for advice/direction on if and how to connect speakers from a 5.1 home theater/DVD system. I only want to hook up the four surroundsound speakers to my computer. The speakers are made by Sony and were prepackaged with the DVD player and sub Woofer. My computer is a Dell desktop with the stock soundcard and the operating system is windows seven - 64. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Scott. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

I like the program, but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't play the Blue Ray format. From what I read, this format is the most likely to have a Descriptive Video track included. RE: an accessible dvd playing software
What program are you talking about? If power dvd, yeah it does. I think starting from virsion 8 it could. One warning though, the new virsions of Power DVD aren't as accessible as the old ones. If VLC, I don't know. I thought I heard it now did. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Gary King Sent: Friday, March 01, 2013 8:04 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: an accessible dvd playing software I like the program, but unless I'm missing something, it doesn't play the Blue Ray format. RE: connecting surroundsound speakers to computer?
H, you'd have to get 3 RCA cables and hook them into the sound card. Then connect them to the AV reciver of the surround system. But you say you only want 4 of the speakers? So, I don't know what to tell you in that case. Accept mute the center channel. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Scott Delventhal Sent: Friday, March 01, 2013 7:45 PM To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Subject: connecting surroundsound speakers to computer?
