RE: windows media player
Hi chris and all. I went back and downloaded winamp again and now it is fine. No tool bars and junk Now I have to learn how to use it. Are there any jaws settings or winamp settings that work best with jaws. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Christopher Chaltain Sent: Saturday, May 11, 2013 05:49 To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: windows media player I'm curious, what kind of other junk does Winamp put on your system that you can't control during installation? Recording level in GoldWave
I've been ripping my LPs, open reels, and cassettes to .wav files using GoldWave. The volume level of the resulting files vary by quite a bit. I can't get an idea of just how much until I finish editing and convert them to mp3 files. I then use MP3Gain to get them to the level I want. Not really understanding the measure of level in decabels, I just make them all 94 which sounds ok to me and is close to how loud my JAWS with Eloquence talks. I'm wondering if there's a way that I can tell earlier in the process if I need to raise or lower the recording level in GoldWave? Any suggestions? Thank you. Goldwave V U meter
Regardless of which screen reader you use, is anyone on this list able to read reliably the Goldwave V U meter. I am using version 5.67 but cannot figure out how to read the meter with either Window-eyes or with Jaws. I am not using scripts for either screen reader for Goldwave. So if you are able to read the V U meter, please tell me which screen reader you use, whether you are using some sort of script, and the specific key presses to read the V U meter. One more question if I may. In the tools menue, what difference does it make whether one checks the control key option? Thanks. Did Anyone See My Post On Sounds?
Hi list: Yesterday I posted a question concerning my windows sounds getting lost (I have no windows sounds) no one has responded as yet! I hardly believe that there isn't _someone_ on this list who can help me get my windows sounds back! I've tried different combinations..to no avail! So figured (in case maybe some of you didn't see it) I'd post it again: yesterday after using Total Recorder, my windows sounds went missing! As far as I know, I'm running the latest version of Try, with no problem until yesterday! I knew the sounds would be missing as soon as I closed it, for when I got back to the desk top, I heard it say "Untitled (or whatever TRY says) although the TRY window wasn't even up! I'm reasonably sure there's a "fix" for this; I just cannot remember what it is! So hopefully someone on here can point me in the right direction and I can get my email sounder and other Windows sounds back again! Thank you! I don't remember if you said which version of Windows (or which operating system you're using) so this all may be different (I'm running Windows XP) so as I said, your situation may be different.
