Sirius-Xm Satellite Radio

2013-10-30 Thread Dave Marthouse
Does anyone know of any accessible alternatives to the flash player that
you must use for Sirius satellite radio on the internet. It can be used in
a hit or miss way with Jaws and Nvda but I would hardly call it accessible.
Any information would be appreciated.

2013-10-30 Thread Dave Marthouse
I signed up for the free 30 day trial to see if it was accessible but I'm
afraid that it is as I said hit or miss. The system uses some kind of
strange flash oriented player. I think there should be an alternative like
a standard webpage with standard combo and list boxes that uses the media
player of your choice for the audio. But that's just my opinion for what
it's worth.

2013-10-30 Thread Rob Tabor
Hi Dave and list,

I've had about the same results with the Sirius XM online listening page. If
you have an iOS device or a droid the only option that is anywhere close to
being accessible is the Sirius XM app, and even that has to be tweked
somewhat, e.g., custom labeling the tabs which Voiceover idenfifies as
button. . Sorry I don't' have better news.

Best regards,
Rob Jayhawk Tabor

I'll say one thing at least you have the opportunity to try it out before

Dave, I use the Sirius XM App on my iPhone, and it works well. You can find
a podcast regarding how to set up the App, by going to applevis.com. As far
as using the computer goes, I do not know of any other way to use the Sirius
XM on-line service other than the flash player. I agree that saying that
it's accessible would be a stretch.

Does anyone know of any accessible alternatives to the flash
player that you must use for Sirius satellite radio on the internet.
It can be used in a hit or miss way with Jaws and Nvda but I would
 hardly call it accessible.
 Any information would be appreciated.
