Cricket update

2013-12-21 Thread Stephen jolley
Hi all,

The Big Bash League is being audio streamed by Cricket Australia using
commentary from Fairfax Radio. There is an entry for this under Special
Events on my page. There is now also an entry for the Blind Cricket
Championships which get underway next Sunday. Congratulations to all at
Blind Sports Radio on this initiative.

Happy listening,

Big Bash league I believe - as well as running highlights from across the
Fairfax Radio Network.

The station can be heard in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth on Digital

Hi Joseph.

The app for NVDA sounds good, but I have a question about it. I have used
both JAWS and Window-Eyes to work with Studio. In each of these, when you
checked the scheduled time a track would start, they reported the actual
time a track would start, instead of reporting the track starting so far
after the hour. For example, Let's say track 2 in the playlist starts 2
minutes after the hour. If I did a two minute and thirty second voice
break, then resumed playback from that point, Window-Eyes and JAWS would
report the correct time of 4 minutes and 30 seconds. The NVDA app still
reported the track starting two minutes after the hour. All other tracks in
JAWS and Window-Eyes would properly report all the track start times after
this track would play. This came in handy to schedule the end of a show, or
the start of the next hour. I hope the app for NVDA works in this case like
the other screen readers I've used. I like to have as many options
available as I can.

Thanks for doing the work on the app for NVDA.

Station Playlist add-on for NvDA: 1.0 public beta 1 is now available

2013-12-21 Thread Joseph Lee
Hi folks,

The NVDA add-on for Station Playlist 1.0 public beta 1 is now available.
Based on the JAWS for Windows and Window-Eyes scripts for SPL Studio, this
NVDA add-on provides following features:

. Ability to obtain status for various SPL Studio options such as
microphone on/off, track playback and so on.

. Toggle option announcements between words and beeps.

. Be notified when track is about to end (five seconds by default;
broadcasters will be able to change this value in a future version of the
add-on).

. Control various aspects of SPL Studio from anywhere using a layer
command set.

. Quickly switch to SPL Studio window from any application.

. Small improvements to make SPL Studio usage more friendly for NVDA
users.

The beta can be downloaded from the following link:

http://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/StationPlaylist.en.html

You can read more about the add-on at the following link (for the add-on
guide):

https://bitbucket.org/nvdaaddonteam/stationplaylist/wiki/SPLAddonGuide

Thanks, and looking forward to your feedback as we shape this add-on towards
the final release (sometime in January 2014).

Cheers,

Joseph
