Zoom H1 Handy Audio Recorder: Changes
Hi! There's been a slight design change in the new Zoom H1 recorder I have over the original model I bought 4 years ago, its a small change but many users may find the tactile dot addition to the play of the play button very welcome as it sets this button apart from the others in the group of 3 buttons on the left hand side below the input volume arrow adjustment buttons. ** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane
Logitech C920 HD Camera
Hi! This arrived around an hour and a half ago, been testing it. I can of course only test the audio at the moment so I've no idea how the camera itself performs but I can tell you that the built-in stereo microphones - one either side of the camera itself - sound absolutely superb! for such a small device. At the moment the camera is standing on the top of my computer monitor and I'm surprised at just how securely the camera sticks, a very nice rubber base. ** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane

Re: Audio Demo Of Logitech C920 HD Microphones
Hi! Obviously the camera was designed for better quality applications than Skype but no doubt about it, it will certainly sound very nice in a Skype session, must record one of those and see how it goes. Thanks for your interest. On 12 May 2014, at 5:30 pm, Brian Olesen br...@blindkom.dk wrote: Hi Dane, Oh yeah not bad at all for a camera. Sad Skype won't transmit in stereo though. Anybody Here Used the WavePad Sound Editing Software from NCH?
Hey folks, Just wondering because I need something that will remove silence from ends of audio files. The problem is that they’re AAC files. Audacity says it won’t do it. WavePad will do it, but in demo mode it won’t save my changes to them. The price of the software, “without VST plugins support nor SFX Library”, is $50 until May 15. Has anyone here used this? The reason I took a look at it is because their Switch audio converter is very accessible, and it looks like this WavePad is also accessible. But for $50 I’m wondering if there’s a better choice. If anyone knows how WavePad stacks up against similarly priced software I’d be interested. I know that Sound Forge will also edit AAC files, but I think that is a bit beyond my price range at the moment. Thanks for any guidance. Evan
Re: Anybody Here Used the WavePad Sound Editing Software from NCH?
Yes I own this software. It is usable with reservations but certainly does not come near Goldwave for accessibility. If you have not purchased this package I would download and test the Goldwave demo before you make a final decision on a sound editor. Thanks Andrea, I have heard of Goldwave, but had neglected to consider it. I will check it out. Re: Anybody Here Used the WavePad Sound Editing Software from NCH?
I purchased the software as I got a discount for multi platform use - for Mac and Windows -. I'd say if anything the Mac version is more accessible though to be honest you'd be wasting your money if you were going to buy it for Windows alone. As has been stated below, Goldwave is far more accessible and far cheaper, Wavepad is quite a flexible editor however its expected by the developers that you buy extra software packs for various effects, features and functionality that you'd normally find built in to audio editing software, nothing wrong with that of course and again - by audio editor standards - Wavepad is pretty good value for money. If your looking for cheap audio editing software which is accessible - and you want cheaper than Goldwave - then look at Total Recorder Professional, the editor built-in to that package is quite powerful, I'm still of the opinion that High Criteria are giving! Total Recorder away at the prices they're charging for all versions. On 13 May 2014, at 7:59 am, Andrea Sherry sherr...@wideband.net.au wrote: Yes I own this software. Recording Video On Your Mac
Okay, following up from the audio test I did with my Logitech C920 HD Webcam yesterday. As stated in the audio test, I was wondering how one could record video from a Webcam on a Mac, turns out the answer was so simple I didn't even think of it and once again, thanks to Google my friend for making me that little wiser. Quicktime Player is built in to OSX though this Application is certainly understate, the title should read Quicktime Player/Recorder as there is a video record option found in the Play menu. All you have to do is select Record from either the menu or a shortcut key and the recording screen opens, from here you select where you wish to record from - Webcam or other device - and both audio and video sources can be set independently. Once that's done click on the Record button and recording starts, press the Stop button when you've finished. From that point you can manipulate your recording, save it to a file, share it on Youtube, eMail it and so on. There is a version of Quicktime for Windows which - as I understand it - gets installed by default with iTunes though I think it can be installed separately if you don't wish to use iTunes. I would imagine the options set in the Windows version is much the same as that for the Mac version, I've not tried the Windows version yet so I've no idea of how accessible or otherwise it is. When I've managed to record a decent enough video to scare everyone out of their wits smile, I'll upload to dropbox. ** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane
