Re: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials
I use that program. You mark the beginning of the commercial by hitting b and mark the end of the commercial by hitting n. Then to delete the commercial hit delete. Then play the file and you can fast forward in larger chunks by hitting page down and by smaller incremements by hitting the right arrow key until you get to the next commercial. And if you have one complete show on one file then hit control + w to save the whole file. Is there a good and simple program which will help me to remove commercials and to then join the file back together minus the commercials? I have heard the MP3 direct recording but am not real sure how to make markers, etc., so if someone has an easier solution I would appreciate info. Joanne
Re: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials
MP3 direct cut would work fine for cutting out commercials. There is a very good podcast about using MP3 direct cut and audacity in accessible world's archives section. This is the one you want to look for. tt-03-19-12-tutorial-gene-asner-audacity-and-mp3-cut Hope this helps. MP3 Direct Cut will work, and the latest version is available to download from the web if you google it. Audacity will also work. This is also free. Joanne: MP3 Direct Cut can do what you want it to do; the way I do it is to make my file; then I'll run it through MP3 Direct cut and take out any parts I don't want! Re: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials
Hi Thom, It worked like charm. Another tip is, that the page up and down and the arrow keys move the cursor When the music is not playing. So you don't hear the chatter but the space bar shows you where you are. -Original Message- From: Tom Kaufman Sent: Monday, September 15, 2014 7:51 PM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: RE: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials Joanne: MP3 Direct Cut can do what you want it to do; the way I do it is to make my file; then I'll run it through MP3 Direct cut and take out any parts I don't want! Re: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials
Would someone be willing to give detailed instructions? Do you first open the program and then go to where it says pause and then use spacebar to cut out commercials? How exactly would I do this? Thanks for any assistance. - Original Message - From: ken reed kvreed...@comcast.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2014 09:42 AM Subject: Re: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials Hi Thom, It worked like charm. RE: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials
Yep...that MP3 Direct Cut is just about the greatest thing (in my opinion) since sliced bread when it comes to taking unwanted parts out of files! I sometimes wish I had a quicker way of doing it (MP3 Direct Cut does provide a way for that) I just haven't figured it out yet! But it's a good program and will let Joanne do what she wants to do! The only thing missing is a way to create a file from your work file. I would like to create a file of music from parts of the same file. Do you know if there is a way to do that?. -Original Message- From: Tom Kaufman Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2014 1:59 PM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: RE: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials Yep...that MP3 Direct Cut is just about the greatest thing (in my opinion) since sliced bread when it comes to taking unwanted parts out of files!
