Re: jaws friendly program for cutting out commercials

How does one successfully navigate through the many offerings, at Accessible
World, to get to the specific catalog number of the podcast, that you are
talking about? I had to arrow down, through the whole list and never got to
the specific numbered podcast that you are talking about, Tim.

Is there a search function, that I did not figure out, yet?

Thanks,

Mac

MP3 direct cut would work fine for cutting out commercials. There is a very
good podcast about using MP3 direct cut and audacity in accessible world's
archives section. This is the one you want to look for.

Yes, I am using one! The Galaxy S5, it rocks!!

Please note that Android DOES NOT DO any handholding like the IOS does. You
learn and experiment at your own pace. If you're coming to the Android
platform from the iPhone side of things, the learning curve can be very,
very different and there can be frustrations galore. However, if you are a
self-starter, self-motivated person, you can do it. I never thought I
could, but now I won't trade in my Android for anything else! I'm still
learning and I'm getting better at it with each passing day.

Sincerely,
Olusegun

Just go to accessibleworld.org and arrow down to the search box and type in
mp3 direct cut and the link for the show will be there.

If I understand you correctly, you definitely can do that! Run your file
through MP3 Direct Cut; find the place in the file you'd like to make a new
file out of...and go to work!

The only thing missing is a way to create a file from your work file.
I would like to create a file of music from parts of the same file.
Do you know if there is a way to do that?.

Yep...that MP3 Direct Cut is just about the greatest thing (in my opinion)
since sliced bread when it comes to taking unwanted parts out of files! I
sometimes wish I had a quicker way of doing it (MP3 Direct Cut does provide
a way for that) I just haven't figured it out yet! But it's a good program
and will let Joanne do what she wants to do!

Hi Thom, It worked like charm.
Another tip is, that the page up and down and the arrow keys move the cursor

When the music is not playing.
So you don't hear the chatter but the space bar shows you where you are.

Joanne: MP3 Direct Cut can do what you want it to do; the way I do it is to
make my file; then I'll run it through MP3 Direct cut and take out any parts
I don't want!

I have heard of and actually have MP3 Direct Cut--probably a very old
version--but am not sure if this program will do what I want, and if it does
I'm not sure exactly how to do this. Is there a good and simple program
which will help me to remove commercials and to then join the file back
together minus the commercials? I have heard the MP3 direct recording but
am not real sure how to make markers, etc., so if someone has an easier
solution I would appreciate info.
