New Version of TapinRadio Available
Hi all, The following message from the developer of TapinRadio was posted on Twitter a couple of days ago: For visually impaired users be patient as QT support is experiencing some issues with accessibility but we're preparing new version. Please try the beta version which might solve the accessibility issues http://tinyurl.com/l26ypxf End of tweets. This link is a direct link to download TapinRadio version 1.60.2 beta2. Actually I hadn't noticed any accessibility issues in the previous version. I've been running this beta for a couple of days now and although it is in beta it seems very stable and I haven't had any problems with it. Re: New Version of TapinRadio Available
I would think you could if you saved the downloaded file of the new version before running it so it could be installed separately similar to saving downloads of screen reader versions. If you want to install multiple copies, you would install it to something like c:\program files\(x86)\tapin Radio Beta and then make sure to create a shortcut to it in a place that's easy to get to. This way, if you have any issues both versions are installed and you can go back to using the older one. I've had this beta for a few hours now and it seems to be very stable. I'm not sure what people mean by having accessibility issues with it, as I use Window-eyes and NVDA and haven't had a single issue with the program. It's super solid and one of the most accessible programs I've used in a while. Re: New Version of TapinRadio Available
Well perhaps I'll try it. I did finally get the issues about Tapin Radio access resolved and part tof the issue was that JAWS was not reading the menus as they weren't showing up on the screen. I don't know how it got fixed byt I had to contact MicroSoft accessibility about another issue and the MicroSoft fixed it while we were waiting for a scan to be completed. It may after all have had something to do with my antivirus program but the subsequent update station list did come through after he fixed it. The only problem that I'm having with it now is that all of the headers are in reverse alphabetical order so the end of the alphabet is read first by Jaws. Re: New Version of TapinRadio Available
Steve, There were people that were complaining about the support not working correctly for accessibility. claiming that nothing read in the search results nor in the menus. I for one have had no problems with tapin radio.
