Hi i had the same problem. But now it is working. However there is no sound when i shotdown my laptop. Hi, Yeah you must assign a shot down sound, under sounds, and if you enable quick start you'll most likely not hear the sound. So what you saying is that oncheck the quick start and i would hear the shotdown sound? So now we come back to the same problem. How to get the two to work? Hi, Well I don't think they'll work both together. You must assign a startup sound, in control panel under sounds. I belive it's no longer assigned. There is a tree view, where you find windows shot down and tab over and choose the sound you want.
