Hi.

I don't recall all of the shortcuts but here is a list of what I know. If
you do a Google search for media center keyboard shortcuts, you will find a
list on the MicroSoft site somewhere.

Alt windows key enter: Open media center from anywhere in Windows.

From within the Media Center application...
Control g: go to Guide
Control t: Go to Live TV.
Control r: Start recording:
Control p: Pause TV
Control f: Skip forward
Control b: Skip backward
Number keys change channels
Volume 70: F10
Volume down: F9

There are moor of them, but I use the remote most of the time. I don't
know
if your remote is the same as mine however.

On mine, there are 4 buttons located just above the number pad that will
take you directly to recorded material, program guide, live TV, etc.

The program guide is fairly accessible in that you can move around within
it
and see what is on, and if you want, choose to record something.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Hello,

I am the proud owner of a Toshiba Qosmio laptop

this comes pre installed with windows media center edition.

I'd like to know if there are keyboard shortcuts for the media center
application itself, also, I'd like to know how to use the media center
specific remote

if you are aware of some text that describe the buttons of the remote, or
how to use it to watch DVD, listen to music, watch TV (Yes, I have an
intagrated TV tuner inside) etc.

please let me know.

This media center app seems powerful especially with the remote.
I hope it's usable by blind people in some way because it looks quite cool.

for classical music, you need a real bood piano such as synthogy hyvory

there are also paying giga studio sound font, such as bigas giga

they sound pretty good in my opinion too.

for a more pop oriented usage, the pianos available in steinberg
hypersonic or edirol super quartet sound just fine for me.
and these softsynth do lot lot more than the piano sound itself

biblos do not split mp3 files.

it split the creation of the audio in MP3 format by the specified number.

for example if you put 47, it would split the reading into 47 mp3 files.

no, this is a current limitation on all non Archos models that record and that
support Rockbox.

The original Iriver firmware do record in Wav or MP3 format.

but for now, Rockbox only support Wav format recording in 44100 HZ 16 Bit
stereo.

Textaloud mp3 is my favorite choice too, but if you like the Eloquence
voice
, try the Biblos software.

it's made by a blind italian.

Biblos actually use the Eloquence Engine we have with jfw (eci.dll) for the
synth to produce mp3 file.
as a result, Biblos can convert files to mp3 at a ultra fast speed, far
more
quickly than any SAPI voice can do.

it can also process very very large file, and do not (as far as i know) use
temporary wav file to create the resulting mp3 files.

but again, if you don't like eloquence , it's not good for you.
Biblos is free. one can register it only to support the author's work, but
it's not mandatory.

btw. Biblos use the Eloquence engine of JFW, but jfw is still absolutly
usable while one convert files.

it work if I restart the record manually and specifi from which active program
the stream need to be recorded, but from the scheduler, the 2 instances of TR

Hi Patrick, using Replay AV's URL finder, I have not yet found an
embedded
player I couldn't record from. Works really well and of course an added
benefit is that you can then use Replay AV to tune into the stream at any
time, even if you don't want to record it, and bypass the embedded
player.

 Hello Chris,

On Sunday, April 23, 2006, 12:29:27 AM, you bellowed the following:
i learned that some streams *must* be recorded using your sound card.
  I didn't think so but it's true.

For this, I tend to use Virtual audio Cable.
Yesterday, I had to record four hours from a stream which used one of
those
 imbedded
players. What I did to get around this was to open up sound forge, set
it to the input on one of the virtual audio cables, set my default sound
card to the virtual cable's output, load the stream, then change the
default playback device back to my onboard sound card. This was done with
a
 laptop
 and it worked great.
It's far easier to rip streams on shoutcast servers, or even Windows
Media streams where you can actually find the source address.

Ibok is a propritary system and it requires that the step between two

frequency on the FM band to be 400 KHZ.

while 400 KHZ step is probably used in the US, the FM band in Europe use
150 or 200 KHZ to accomodate more radio stations.

I know for sure that in France, the Ibok technology have little or not

but we have a network of very little local stations for which this

you know, the problem with the digital radio, no matter the technology,

Re[2]: Help with Iriver 340 and rock box.

2006-03-18 Thread Arnaud de Bonald
well. I don't know what to suggest you because if you ahve successfully done it
on another unit, I presume you know already all about it.

but jsut in case, check that rockbox.iriver is in the root dir as well as the
.rockbox dir

Thanks for that.

I connect it up to the cradle to get the patched hex file and the rock box
software on the unit then I get someone with sight to upgrade the firm ware
off the charger but I can't get it to boot up in rock box mode it just
comes
back up in Iriver mode any more ideas?
