This is a cell phone with speech that I have. Some one did a podcast for
techtalk, I think it was, but it was onlyy one part. Does anyone have a more
comprehensive podcast or manual. I have one from the company, but it is easier
to follow the instructions, written for blind users. Glenna

Windows media Player will allow you to burn cd's and so will winamp.
Below

are directions for Windows Media. I am getting ready for work or I would
write Winamp's directions as weel.

1. Place a blank cd in your cdr drive.
2. When you see/hear what do you want windows to do, press the letter o
followed by tapping enter once.
3. Move to where you have the files you wish to burn to this cd.
4. Select a file you wish to place on the cd and press control plus the
letter c.?

5. Press alt plus tab back to the cdr drive window.
6. press control plus the letter v.
You could select all the files in a folder and press control plus c if
you

wish. You do not have to do them one at a time.
7. Once all the files are in the cdr window, press alt plus the letter
f.

8. Press the letter t.
9. Tab to next
and press enter.
10.Windows Media Player will open. So tab to copy and press the
spacebar. Do not press space on copy to cd or copy to device.

11. Tab to next: again and press enter. When the cd is finished
recording, the drive will open.

Have a good day.

Hello PC-audio friends,

Accessible Electronics offers 5 MP3 players that are
completely voice output accessible to the blind. The units are all under
one hundred dollars. They all have a built in FM radio, which can record
internally, a built in microphone, in case you want to record a lecture,
and

they all play a variety of formats, from MP3, to even CD audio. The web
site is: www.accessibleelectronics.com There is a link on the site for an
audio demo. You'll hear Laz Mesa, who is blind, operate one of the
players,

and you'll hear the synthetic voice announce all menu options. Hope this

Hello List members,
I just received a new digital talking book player in the mail.
I have a few questions about it.
For starters, this machine can play files from a USB flash drive.
What kind of format will those files need to be in an order for

this machine to play them?

I haven't tried this yet, but can this thing play in stereo?
It has a monaural speaker built in to it.
But I'm asking about its headphone jack.
I have seen some digital playback equipment that had mono

speakers built in to them before.

But when you plug a pare of headphones in to them, the sound came

out in stereo.

Is this digital talking book player one of those machines that

can do this?

Thinks in advance.
My best regards.
 John.
PS. Where is a good website to download digital talking books?

 Oh boy,
that depends, what are you looking for in an MP3 player? Do you want a
hard
drive player, or do you want to be able to play CD's? Do you want a radio
and a recorder? Do you want it to play Audible books? How much do you want
to spend? Lets see, not knowing exactly what you want, I'll try to answer
 your question.
First of all, if you want to play books from Audible as well as music, you
can try the Muvo player, its a 128 GB player that is the size of a pack of
gum and is less than $100. They have a 256 MB player, but I don't know how
accessible it is. To check it out, read this month's edition of Access
World. Now to the HD players, the best are either the IRiver H140, or the
Archos studio players/recorders. The Archos ones can be found on EBay or
Amazon. These players, including the IRivers are recognized as another
drive
by your computer so you just copy files to them. also, the Archos has an
alternative firmwear program called Rockbox that you can download to the
player/recorder. It will speak the menus and spell the directories and
file
names. Rockbox is being worked on to be able to be used by the IRiver
players. I have the Archos studio 20GB recorder with Rockbox. I like it.
The
 only draw backs are:
 1. no radio.
 2. Its heavy and big compared to other players.
 3. Can only play MP3 files.
 4. Only has a 10 hour battery life. Hope this helps.
