Do any of you know if this is more accessable than the Tascam DP 004? I don't want to move around in menus if I can help it. accessable multitrack
Hello, I've got a quick question regarding multitrack recorders. I purchased a Tascam DP004, because of everything I read about it seemed the most accessable for a totally blind person like myself; I like the dedicated knobs for pan and setting levels. It sounded easy to operate and I wouldn't need too much sited assistance; my goal is to record my music (steel guitar, acoustic bass, lead guitar, fiddle and ukulele) all onto separate tracks and mix independant of any sited help. I like the unit and do not intend to give up on it just yet; the menu navigations are rather tricky; I thought that you simply pressed a button, recorded, rewound and then recorded further tracks. How easy is this recorder for a totally blind person to operate? Can it be done? Is there a better recorder you can suggest if not the Tascam that will give me multitrack recording and all of the features of the Tascam but is easy to operate? I'd prefer to not have to mess around in menus if I can help it, and that's why I picked up the unit, because it said you didn't really have to fool around with menus to record. Thanks for all of your help and patience in answering my questions. multitrack recorders and mixers
Howdy, Hope the Holiday Season's treating you fine. I've got a question about multitrack recorders and mixers. I'm looking at a 4 channel mixer, a Phonic AM440D. I'm also checking out various mics for this mixer. I want to go from this mixer to my ZoomH2... the only problem is my Zoom doesn't have overdubbing nor multitrack recording software. It has 2 tracks for the separate left/right stereo channels but you can only record a file or play a file, not multitrack. I'm searching for a multitrack recorder to go from this mixer to. I'm getting a band together and we want to record our albums in a home studio. Some stuff I want to record live, like just setting up mics in front of the 5 piece band and jamming, but for a cleaner sound I would like to record in tracks. Should I get this mixer, or should I just go with a 8 track recorder or 24 track recorder that records to hard disk/memory card? Tascam makes some pretty good DAWs (digital audio work stations) or Digital Portastudios. Looking at their 8 track studio or their 24 track? I still like the thought of using the mixer because it has the various channels. What's your thoughts, because I'm totally stumped. home recording
Hello, I play piano, ukulele and sing. I want to put together a demo album of stuff I've written. I have a set of binaural mics (in-ear), a mono mic (both of these are from Sound Professionals), and another mono mic and set of regular stereo mics (from Giant Squid Audio.) I have a Zoom H2 recorder and use Soundforge and Studio Recorder. What will be the best way for me to record? Should I record in tracks, or vocals and music together? How about getting rid of room noise as the room I'm recording in is kind of echoey. Any tips?
