Re: Connecting Apple Tv to an older receiver with RCA aux/ins
Hi. I bought a digital audio converter from Amazon for less than $20. I do not remember the manufacturer, but you should be able to find what you need. You connect the Apple TV to the DAC with an optical cable and the box has left and right RCA jacks. I stream content to our Bose all the time. Hope this helps. MagicJack
Hi. I remember that the MagicJack may have been discussed on this list before, but will apologize in advance if this is off topic. It seems that the software on my MagicJack has been updated and is no longer accessible. I can no longer tab between the buttons in the interface and I only hear a lot of graphics when using the JAWS cursor. Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks in advance for any help. Re: Before You Buy an iPod Touch
Hi Larry. Thanks for posting your message so others do not have the same thing happen to them. I was considering buying an iPod Touch last winter, and I found out that the 8 gig models were not accessible, but the information was not readily available. . I am considering upgrading mine and Lee's Nokia phones to iPhones to take advantage of the GPS and OCR. Depending on if Apple will be releasing an iPod Touch with a camera, then we may do that. The deal breaker may be how usable the GPS actually is in the iPhone. I apologize if I am going out of bounds for this list. I would appreciate any any observations or comments off list. - Original Message - From: Larry Naessens larr...@distributel.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, August 08, 2010 7:36 PM Subject: Re: Before You Buy an iPod Touch Yes, I'm just hoping that Customer Service will let me exchange my Touch for the accessible model. It's the world's first gesture-based screen reader, enabling you to enjoy the fun and simplicity of iPod touch even if you can't see the screen. Note that when I checked the specifications pages for the different models of the iPod touch, I didn't see that they specifically noted whether the model supported VoiceOver or not. The comparison table mentioned voiceOver for the Nano and the Shuffle, but not the iPod Touch. As others have mentioned, I doubt they'll support VoiceOver on your model but I would hope they would let you return or exchange it, especially since it was a gift. Hi Ken. I am afraid that Canadian numbers may not be such a good deal. I remember reading that you can't assign a Canadian number to a Magic Jack which you bought through the magicjack.com site in the States, so you would likely need to buy a new one to get a Canadian number. I hope I am wrong about this. If anyone has more information, please let us know.
