totally blind operating a webcam

2016-12-01 Thread Stephanie Mitchell
Hi all,

This discussion on cameras has lead me to ask a question of my own. I'm looking
for a webcam that a totabbly blind person can use. I teach piano online using
skype and facetime, and was wondering if there is a camera I can hook up to my
ipad that can show my hands etc? As a blind person I'm not going to able to
adjust it myself, so wondering if something will do the job. I heard there is a
glasses one that works via bluetoth where it will focus on what I look at.

Any ideas on how to operate a webcam blind?
Thanks,
Steph

ls100 problem

2016-02-09 Thread Stephanie Mitchell
Hi all,
I have decided to try and get my ls100 working and teach myself how to use it.

Ok, I put some bateries in it, but accidently turned the voice guidance off.
How do I turn it back on again? I tried removing the bateries but it made no
difference.
Thanks.

Re: dm620

2015-12-21 Thread Stephanie Mitchell
I agree with the points of the design. The 520 is perfect. I love the stuff on
the side, and the fact that I have the belt clip. I can literally press record
on the go. I hate having to remove the recorder to start recording, then have
to put it back again.
Maybe I need to look at other opms.
Any ideas?

Has it got a belt clip on it?

Only thing is, I'm in Australia so not sure about the shipping side of things.
It's basically brand new, only used once.

Hi all,
I'm thinking of huying a dm620. My dm520 still works, but it's so compact and
small, with fairly good sound I'd like another one. I have a dm7, which has
good sound, but it's huge and I'm thinking of selling it, along with my ls100
which I'd never used yet.
Anyway, how does the 620 compare with the 520?

the dm7

2015-03-28 Thread Stephanie Mitchell
Hi all,
I have several olympus recorders, including the dm520, and the dm7.
Also I like the dm7, I still use my very small dm520 as it fits easily in my
bag, and the leather case for it still gives me access to the controls and has
a clip i can clip it on to things.
The dm7 has a pouch type case which means I'm for ever having to get it out the
case to record, which is a pain in the neck. I have used the iphone app, which
is accessible, but it's very annoying to use the wifi function to upload files
to dropbox. First you have to connect the dm7 to the phone, which requires some
one to read the password to tell the phone to connect with it. Then you
download the files on to the phone and then use your wifi network to upload
them to dropbox. I every used this while travelling but it's still a pain.
And the case issue is a huge issue to me as I cant clip it on to myself or
anything and i cant use the recorder in the case.
My dm520 is still working perfectly. The only thing missing is that I cant find
a wind shield for it, so if anyone knows, let me know where I can buy one.
Anyway, that's my thoughts on the dm7 and dm520.
Hope this helps someone,
Steph
