Re: Pro Tules

2011-04-25 Thread Vincenzo Rubano
Hi all,
well, I am a mac-user and I am learning to use protools, so I try to answer to
your questions...

Kim, protools is a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), which is a program that
includes a sequencer, an audio-editor and a mixer.
Using a DAW a person can make his music using real or virtual instruments,
recording vocals, using tons of effects, ecc ecc...
Probably, in professional recording studios protools is the standard; it
means that the 80% of the rrecording studios of this world use protools.

Hamit, protools is available for two platforms: windows or mac.
Under windows, protools is inaccessible with all the available screen readers.
Under mac, protools is not fully accessible with Voice Over, the built-in
screen reader.
Protools is not fully accessible, but there are lots of things taht a blind
user can do with this daw and a mac. You should consider, for example, that
there are lots of blind-people that uses protools in their recording-studios.
However, I am not really expert, and as people sayd to me months ago, I have to
say that isn't possible to make a list of things that a protools' blind user
can do. It's less hard to make a list of the things that a blind user cannot do
using protools.
If you or someone on the list need more details, finally, I have to say that
exists a mailing list dedicated to the accessibility of protools (remember,
only mac version). To subscribe it, just send a blanc message to:
ptaccess+subscr...@googlegroups.com

To post messages on this list, send the emails to:
ptacc...@googlegroups.com

I know my English isn't perfect, I hope you could understand this mail... (if
someone would like to send me, also off list, the corrections of the mystakes I
made, I'll be gratefull)...

Hope this helps,
 Vincenzo.

Re: Pro Tules

2011-04-25 Thread Vincenzo Rubano
Hi Tony,
at this time, the most accessible professional daw with Voice Over is
protools...
However, it seems that the next version of logic studio, version 10, should be
really accessible; these are rumors, but it could be possible...Logic 10 should
be released during this summer, so We'll early know this...
Ah! I was forgetting!
A guy told me that the last version of Stainberg Cubase, version 6.0.1, should
be accessible; but I haven't tested this, and it sounds me really strange...

Take care,
   Vincenzo.

Re: Can anyone identify these songs for me

2010-12-28 Thread Vincenzo Rubano

Hi Barry,
sorry, but I don't know these song's titles...
But, I would like to suggest you an app:
it's called shazam, and it works on iphone, ipad, ipod touch,
windows-mobile-based-devices and s60 phones (v2 v3)...
It's really easy-to-use: run the application, select tag now; then the
program will record 10 seconds of the song, and it will search for its title
in the itunes store

I always use it, and it's never wrong! :-)
  Vincenzo.

Hi all,

I was going through some old cassettes and came across some Christmas
songs which I would like to identify. Following is a link to
a sample of the songs. I would be pleased if I could find the names of
the songs and the artists (although I do know the song name
in some cases). Once I can identify them, I can try to obtain them on CD

appreciated in identifying one or all of the songs.

Hi,
ok, I am italian, so sorry for my English...
Garageband is an audio-sequencer; using it, you can create your songs!
It's part of the ILife suite, the latest version (ILife 11) is very very
accessible!
Band in a box..It's similar, but sorry, I don't know how to explain into
English. I think it's not accessible..

accessibility in logic protools

On macbook, with voiceover, is it possible to use logic for a blind user?
Someone told me that exists an accessible version of logic studio...Can you

I looked for it along, but no results...
Other question...
I know that exists an accessible version of protools. Is there a demo version?

Re: Accessible audio editor...

2010-09-20 Thread Vincenzo Rubano

Hi Robert and Kelly,
well
For Robert: I use audacity to apport aggiustment to my audio files, but with
this program, unfortunately, it is impossible to create songs (I haven't an
external keyboard, and then I can't record sounds, but I think it works well
with recording the vocal needed for the songs)...

For Kelly:
I already visited the site:
www.dancingdots.com
but it offers CakeTalking, some jaws scripts for sonar
And Cakewalk Sonar could solve all my problems, but
It doesn't integrate a virtual keyboard...So, I haven't an external midi
keyboard, and I can't simply use it! :(

Any other ideas?
Vincenzo.
