SpeakOn Media Suite.

2013-11-21 Thread Gary Price(Gmail)

Hello everyone. This is Gary Price here.

I am writing to make you all aware of an excellent free audio player as
an alternative to Winamp.

This player is called SpeakOn. This is a media player, but it can do
lots of things.
Listen to Daisy books, download or listen to podcasts, listen to TNAUK
magazines, subscription to this is required!.
Last FM, which is like a personal radio station, again subscription is
required. I am not sure how much these two services are though.

Listen to the radio via a task called TuneIn radio.
Plus so much more! Play CD;s, OK it can't rip them, but it can look up
the tracks on the Internet.

If you want to find out more or download it, go to:
www.speakon.org.uk

Very easy to understand manual, developed by Isaac Porrat who is blind.
Please also be aware that Java must be installed for it to work.

If anyone wants to contact me offlist, my E-mail address is:
gazwpr...@gmail.com

I hope you like this free player.

Adjusting volume in Total Recorder?

2013-03-15 Thread gary price
Hello everyone.

Please can anyone tell me if there is a way of adjusting the volume of things
in Total Recorder? I am asking because I have got Software and Soundboard
selected, can record computer fine. But my microphone is really quiet!

I have set my microphone to 100%, so think there is something wrong in Total
Recorder.

Done a test with it and shared it with my friend and one member of this list,
Christopher Hallsworth.
By the way got the Digital Mixer Add-on installed, so this is why I can select
Software and soundboard.

Keyboard shortcuts welcome, as I'm blind. The help isn't very good.
Many thanks, any responses really appreciated.

Recording a podcast, can anyone help?

2013-03-08 Thread Gary Price(Gmail)

Hello everyone.

My name is Gary Price from Bolton in lancashire, United Kingdom.

I have recently started doing a series of podcasts on a free Windows
programme called SpeakOn. Now the thing is I had to do these on my
iPhone using Dropvox so it would pick up both my voice and computer speech.

However its been pointed out on a website I'm on TAFN (The Accessible
Friends Network) that my computer's speech is extremely quiet!

I want to do an update to my 3 that I've already done. Please what can I
do so that I can record both me and the computer? I want to do it in
little bits you see, so as I say something I want to demonstraight it.

Now I'm completely blind, and because of where we are extremely
iseluated. So I don't have any sighted people to help me out with cable
connections and stuff like that.

Many thanks, any responses really appreciated.
