Have you tried Batteries Plus?  I got a new one for my first gen stream about 
18 months ago.  I just the battery into the store and they had one.  It was 
about $30 I think.

Digit-eyes works great, but it takes too long, pen friend or another similar
item takes a couple of seconds.

You can also go to www. Olympus.com type in the model number and download
the file.  I have a copy of the manual on my home computer and will look for
it this weekend if you haven't found it by then.

FYI, if you look in the Daisy folder, as I recall, they have a fully
accessible manual in Daisy format. My battery is currently dead at the
moment so I can't check but I do recall the manual was quite helpful for
many of the features of the DM4.

While holding the V R Stream back side up and the top of the unit with the
sd card slot toward me  I pushdown on each side of the cover and at the same
time push away from me.  It takes a little pressure but pushing down and
away opens the cover.  The cover should slide away  from you.
