RE: Accessible PC to TV devices?

2011-10-08 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi Kathy.

From what I understand the only TV streaming device that's accessible is
Apple TV. I have one of these and it works quite well. For $99 you can't
beat it in my opinion.

Hi Kathy,

I too am interested in doing the same here at home. Did you get any
good answers back concerning your question below?

Thanks,

Johnny

Is there something better? We're mostly interested in things like dvd's that
our PC canplay but our dvd player can't, (okay, that's not really
streaming!), but also stuff from archives from TV shows, such as Commedy
Central, CBS, etc.

As always, any advice would be much appreciated!

Peace,

Hi, Johnny! Actually, I didn't get an anwer at all to my question.
Interestingly, my sighted husband and I just got beck from Best Buy with a
device from Western Digital, which might do better than the roku. I am told
you can't ooperate any of these devices from your computer but that
everything is done through an inaccessible remote control used for these
devices. But I'll keep you posted as to any work-arounds I might discover.
Smile.

Cheers,
Kathy
