Sound Advice: Fixing Common Mac Audio Problems in OS X

2016-06-04 Thread Dane Trethowan
If anyone who owns a Mac is having issues with audio then the guide presented
here may very well help solve the problem.

Thankfully I’ve not had any nasty’s to deal with in this area but I do know
people who have.

Audio Problems

2009-01-30 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.
okay, will try and explain.
when the system boots up and i get the two sound files, then i hear a pitch
and hum sound, and a clicking sound and then another low hum, then jaws
eventually starts up.
did contact toshiba support and they said to download the real tech audio
drivers.
which i did.
but still getting this problem.
and was wondering.
is there a usb controller driver on the toshiba website at
http://ww.isd.toshiba.com.au/drivers
and my model is a 300 satellite psa g4a.
and also, my web cam not working.
and also how to fix the static background when i did a test call in skype.
would be most appreciate.
and if all else fails, maybe some one would be willing to do a jaws tandem
with me.
cheers Marvin.

Audio problems. Please help.

2006-12-05 Thread John Moore
I am using a mixer to talk on Skype. It worked flawlessly until a few
days ago when, I accidentally screwed up the sound devices because
Skype was being slow and not letting me make phone calls. It turned
out to be the connection. Now, I have tried everything to get it back
to normal. I have it set on Windows default devices for both playback
and recording, which are the correct ones. I have two sound cards, and
before this happened, it had no problem telling what card did what.
Now, even checking the box to let Skype adjust the settings, it still
isn't working. I unchecked the box and it still isn't working. I even
checked to see if the cards were still programmed right, which they
were. Can somebody please help? Thanks.

Audio problems

2005-04-09 Thread Mark Matthews
Hi List, as you probably can tell I'm a newby here.

Using JFW 6, XP SP 2, and onboard sound card. Recently I've not been able to
obtain any input from my mic. However my screen-reader is heard - together
with me typing apparently. I can varify the former from doing tests in Sound
Recorder. I'm sure I've seen a solution to this kind of scenario before, but
can't for the life of me remember what it was!

My Mic volume is set to 90 %, and the 20 DB boost, and mute checkboxes are
checked and unchecked respectively. Also the mic is inserted properly into
the appropriate socket. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Mark
