The easiest way to get to your microphone settings should be to type in
Windows search box the following:

Hi.
I just got this great new laptop to replace a faithful one. I plan on using
it for internet broadcasting, and here's where the problem begins. How do I
change the microphone volume so it's louder? Right now I have to have the
mic against my mouth in order to get a decent audio level.
Thanks in advance for the help. For that matter, how do you adjust
different audio levels in Windows 7? I'm running JAWS 11 on this PC.
