Re: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x
No problem. You might still have problems if you have gaps at the end or beginning of files. There some settings to tweek that but I'm not completely sure how it's done. I believe it can be done inside the plugin just like crossfading. take care bb Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x
Brett, Bingo! That last explanation did the trick. I actually have it cross fading now. The only thing I have to figure out is why occasionally it doesn't do it. Doing it this was has the advantage of still being able to use the alternate volume control so one can control the volume of the music separately from that of a software synth. Re: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x
Rick, Ok download this one and just run the executable. It should set up the sqrsoft plug-in automatically. You will need to run the executable once downloaded and it will put the dll in your winamp folder under plug-ins. If it doesn't set the plugin open preferences in Winamp with control + P, arrow to the output plugin, tab twice to the list and select it. The default settings should work well. Re: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x
For those using the Audiophile 2496 and other sound cards that can play 24 bit audio, this plug in only supports 16 bit. To use this plugin, it is necessary to disable 24 bit playback in winamp. I liked how it nicely faded things. It was so slick and the interface was highly configurable. However, i really missed the enhanced sound quality of 24 bit audio and much superior sound quality. What a tough choice to make. I remember there used to be a cross-fade option in Winamp preferences back in the 2.x days, but it doesn't seem to be there any more. Can someone that knows what they are doing point me in the right direction? I only want to use one copy of Winamp and would rather not have to run 2 instances of Winamp to do this. I know this used to be possible with one copy of Winamp, within the current play list. Thanks in advance for any hints on this. If there is a Winamp plug-in that will do this, that would be fine as well. --Warmest regards, --Rick Alfaro [EMAIL PROTECTED] Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x
I don't think it is worth downloading the sqr plugin anymore. Winamps output plugins are all customizable for fading. You just have to find the right numbers and mix of fading that you want. It works a lot bett since version 2 hope this helps - Original Message - From: Dave McLean [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Saturday, September 15, 2007 6:21 PM Subject: Re: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x Rick, When I started using Winamp back in the 90s I tried using its crossfading capabilities (so-called) but never got satisfactory results. If that is the case, then how? I only saw settings for fade-outs, so if you know how to do a true cross fade in Winamp 5.x, I'd appreciate a step by step or at least a summary of how to do it. That was the original question, so if you know the answer, I am all ears. RE: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x
The plug-in is working great and I like the different presets. The only minus I am seeing is that it disables your ability to use the alternate volume control method which allows you to adjust the volume of the music without affecting the volume of your speech, not a problem for anyone using an external synth of course. Other than that, it is an awesome plug-in. Not a problem though as I just switch to the cross fade plug-in when I am going to do strictly listening like in another room or something. --Warmest regards, --Rick Alfaro [EMAIL PROTECTED] -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Dave McLean Sent: Sunday, September 16, 2007 5:42 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: How does one Cross-fade in Winamp 5.x Yes I'd like to know that myself.
