Re: Mp3DirectCut was: recording radio broadcasts.
I clicked on the download link, but I can't seem to download it. Is there any advantages to this than Cdex's record from analog device? - Original Message - From: Harry Bassler [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. I use it for recording drama from BBC Radio 4 for editing out unwanted portions of audio. It works quite well with Jaws 4.51, Jaws 5.0 Jaws 5.10. There are also scripts available if you need them, but not essential. It can tell immediately the playing time of a large audio file, say 85 megs, you can go instantly to any spot withing that same file. Also, you can press the right or left arrow key while the audio is playing, hear just as with an audio cd. It's terrific! The program has a command line option to start recording immediately so one can setup a shortcut with a hotkey to start recording from anywhere within Windows. You could also use your favorite scheduling program to record radio shows. This program is free. I haven't had any trouble with spyware from Mp3DirectCut. Check it out at: http://www.mpesch3.de/ It works well with WindowEyes. There are lots of direct access keys. The record meters are in text form. A few things take a bit of getting used to. Fore example: If you want to place a marker during playback. You press b for set begin then n for set end then c for cut while the file is paused. If the begin and end marks are in the same place, they are treated is a mark instead of cutting the selected area. I wish other audio editors were as easy to use. I'm just about to try the latest version which has a few new features. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: Mp3DirectCut was: recording radio broadcasts.
No special drivers to use Mp3DirectCut. No installer either. You just unzip the files to a folder then create a shortcut to the Mp3DirectCut.exe file. Files are saved in the folder your shortcut specifies. It's a good idea to look at the options to be sure you save each new file with the date cause it doesn't ask you for file names when you record. So, it just basicly records what you have set in the record section of the Windows mixer. The manual is pretty good. - Original Message - From: Susan Wojtecki [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. Bobcat and Harry, So it can be set to record or schedule streams as they play and not just archived programs? Does it use its own drivers like TR and some of the other audio capturing programs? Since it is free it certainly sounds like it is worth a try. Thanks for this. Re: Mp3DirectCut was: recording radio broadcasts.
Susan, MP3DirectCut is great, I use it often to copy from cassette to my pc later burn the audio to cd with Nero or Roxio. That's right, no drivers or installation, no conversion to or from .wav files. Harry - Original Message - From: Susan Wojtecki [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list.
