a Rar is probably a compressed archive. It's an alternative to the .zip algorithm. Get the Winrar programme mentioned in the post above to uncompress/extract .rar files. - Original Message - From: Dane Trethowan grtd...@internode.on.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 2:04 AM Subject: Re: Concerning Rar files Hi! Re: Concerning Rar files
same as winzip in the old days. I never used 7zip much...winrar provides all my archiving needs; can even do .zips instead with the mere activation of a radio button. i have found that rar is a superior archiving format, though of corse it won't do you much good with mp3s and such unless you want to just pack all the files in a convenient bundle, since compressed sound files are already compressed - Original Message - From: Dave McElroy d...@drakelroy.com To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 6:57 PM Subject: RE: Concerning Rar files WELL, I THINK YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY FOR IT, BUT I'D BEEN USING WINRAR FOR YEARS ON MY XP PC AND JUST SKIPPING OVER THE NAG SCREEN. -Original Message- From: Pc-audio [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 7:17 AM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: RE: Concerning Rar files Is WinRAR no longer free?
