Subject: interesting streaming situation with the sam encoders
Hi. Forgive me if this is the wrong list for this, but this is
pc-audio after all and this kind of involve the pc and audio so I
guess it can't hurt to try. I'm trying to help my girlfriend get set
up with the Sam Encoders. She used the Shoutcast plugin before but
due to her situation she needs multiple encoders so I recommended sam
to her. So she got it, and the lame encoder, this is the latest one.
Now, maybe it's a problem with the way we're installing the lame
encoder. I was given some directions a while back that said to place
the lame_enc.dll file in the c:\windows\system folder, but maybe that
only applies to goldwave? Even more interesting is the fact that I
went ahead and sent her my settings file for the sam encoders, and
when she launches the encoders window, all the choices show up as
128k, 44.1 stereo, but when she tries to add a new one, the only
settings that show up for her are only up to 56k. How can we set it
up so she can get encoder settings above 56k? The stations she's on
would like for her to be at at least 96k, and if she can only choose
encoder settings up to 56 k this won't work. BTW when she chooses an
encoder, this is the mp3 and mp3 pro encoder, and it does the same
thing with the legacy MP3 encoder as well. It works just fine on my
system but not hers. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear
any sollutions.
Thanks.
