they're
 lossless. I wonder what
actual
 bit rate that

say
 about 300 kbps, maybe closer
 to 256 if it were
5 times less than wav files.
It would be a good format to

Re: torrent sites?

2006-05-10 Thread Matthew Bullis
Ok, there is either shn or flac files. ETree.org is just a database of shows
which are in the collections of traders. You have to e-mail the traders and
ask for a trade, and then you work out the details, whether it be postal
mail or ftp. Dime A Dozen actually has the files, but that depends on the
sharing concept of torrents. If I were to upload a show to Dime, and three
people downloaded, that would be four peers having the show. If I lost
internet, or went offline somehow, the three peers would be left. If two of
the three peers are not sharing the files, then this would leave only one
person available to download from. When I come back online later, then the
download increases for the person trying to get the files. If you're
downloading a show and everyone of the four peers goes offline, then you're
out of luck until at least one comes back online. So, Dime hosts the ability
for the files, but the files are on all of our computers, depending on which
shows we wish to share. If you're going to get into torrents, I would
suggest you use UTorrent, from
www.UTorrent.com
since it's very easy to use.
Thanks a lot.

Cool! I think the deal with Etree is that I've never tried to tape a show in

but maybe not.
