No, Sound recorder will record, for 1 or 2 minutes, but it's possible to
load a much bigger file into it.
It may be one of the least used features of Windows.
But, it sometimes comes in handy.
Good luck,

Hello R Q J,

Thanks for that little tip. I was under the impression that Sound Recorder
could not handle files larger than 2 or 3 minutes. My files are quite small.
About 20 mb each. They are recorded on a PDA.

Hi Kiran,
If you are not dealing with very large files,
you already have a sound editor on your Windows machine.
If you are just looking to delete portions of a wav file, Sound Recorder
will do this nicely.
There is a size limit of about 76mb with sound recorder.
If your files are smaller than that then you are in business.
You can find it by going to the start menu, then programs, then accessories,
then entertainment.

Hi Fazil,
Yes, but you are limited to how much editing you can do.
You can only load and edit .wav files,as long as they are smaller than 76mb.
It's handy for chopping up files, and changing sample rates etc,
but it is by no means a serious sound editing application.

There is a size limit of about 76mb with sound recorder.
If your files are smaller than that then you are in business.
You can find it by going to the start menu, then programs, then
 accessories,
 then entertainment.

 Hi all,

I am looking for a simple freeware/shareware application that will enable
 me
edit a few wave files. I just want to be able to select portions of the
audio and delete it. I tried GoldWave but it seems a little confusing to
 set
 the markers.

 Any help is greatly appreciated.

 Thanks,

 Hi Fazil,
Yes, but you are limited to how much editing you can do.
You can only load and edit .wav files,as long as they are smaller than
 76mb.
It's handy for chopping up files, and changing sample rates etc,
but it is by no means a serious sound editing application.

 versions of Windows.

 Hello R Q J,

Thanks for that little tip. I was under the impression that Sound
 Recorder
could not handle files larger than 2 or 3 minutes. My files are quite
 small.
About 20 mb each. They are recorded on a PDA.

 Thanks,

 Hi Kiran,
If you are not dealing with very large files,
you already have a sound editor on your Windows machine.
If you are just looking to delete portions of a wav file, Sound Recorder
 will do this nicely.
There is a size limit of about 76mb with sound recorder.
If your files are smaller than that then you are in business.
You can find it by going to the start menu, then programs, then
 accessories,
 then entertainment.
