I recently purchased a program called Rip Vinyl from out of England. The menu items seem to work okay, but as soon as I try to use it to select my source, say mike or line-in, the programs locks up my system and I can't get out of it, except my rebooting the machine entirely. I paid ten bucks for the program so I am not worried about it, but is there another such program out there that is accessible? I actually want to rip Casettes to my hard drive and then onto MP3 discs. I heard mention of a program called Audacity (free I hear). How accessible is this one? I have some old tapes and records that I want to put on to cd. So, I had the same questions a couple of weeks ago. What I did: Go to http://jfwlite.com/programs.html and download and install the GoldWave JAWS scripts. Go to http://www.goldwave.com/ and download and install the latest trial version of GoldWave. Read C:\Program Files\GoldWave\GoldWave.htm. Appendix D gives an example of copying records.
