Re: What's the best Internet radio recorder.
Different animals. One is good as the other and I use both, but, Replay helps you schedule shows and programing on a daily basis. Total recorder will let you record on a schedule but you have to provide the URL. With replay guide you do not. - Original Message - From: Tom Kaufman tomca...@comcast.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Saturday, December 25, 2010 2:16 PM Subject: Re: What's the best Internet radio recorder. Re: What's the best Internet radio recorder.
Hi, Feel free trying Tapin-radio http://www.tapinradio.com/ there are several 365.com or shoutcast.com streams but it depends on which ones you open just like in WinAmp or any other radio player. In case they insert metadata into streams it splits songs into tracks and you can also schedule the automatic recording using AlarmTR.exe application in TR folder. Speaks 100% with NVDA and TR is a freeware too. It also has sleep mode and you can suggest or report failed radio stations right through the program interface. It doesn't convert streams and records it into the original sttreaming bitrate so it won't downgrade the sound quality not talking about the fact you can record directly into mp3, ogg or aac and in some cases wma format as well. I used replay for a long time, but the newest version has some very strange quirks -- particularly if you have it start when windows starts -- at least when using windows 7, so I switched to total recorder for scheduling recordings and so far it has worked well. Re: What's the best Internet radio recorder.
Hi all. I didn't know this till today. If you like a particular station and it's not in Tapin's presets, there is an Open URL item under the file menu. So try that with your Shoutcast or Live365 streams. Hey, any 80's stations using those streams? Smiles. Anyway, as for the settings pain, I can use it no problems. It's not your typical settings dialogue box, as there are buttons instead of tabs. Pressing on those buttons will focus on settings for that category. Take care. I'm trying it out now and like it so far. The settings pain isn't that accessible, but it does work well. Any reason why this app doesn't support Shoutcast.com or Live365.com networks? All of the good audio streams can be found on these sites. Is there a way to add your own stream? At 11:14 AM 12/22/2010, you wrote: Hi all. The F3 key records and stops recording. Take care. Re: What's the best Internet radio recorder.
Hi Anders, Tapin radio works beautifully with Window-Eyes. However you definitely need the QT Support script when using Tapin radio with Window-Eyes. This script can be downloaded from https://www.gwmicro.com/Script_Central/Scripts/Script_Details/?scriptid=1225 I hope this helps. Regards Steve.
