Re: Winamp instalation

Hi Frank
I have changed the subject line to better reflect the question being asked.
subject lines such as information please aren't helpful to those of us
who read e-mail by subject lines.
So if you've got a question about Winamp like you do here, it's more
helpful to put the actual subject of the question in the subject line, at
least it helps me more.

As far as Winamp goes, there isn't really that much online documentation
about installing the very latest and greatest version, but on the list I
run at Smartgroups called Winamp4TheBlind, where Winamp is what we talk
about exclusively, we have found that the very best way to install it is to
avoid the use of the modern skin and sticking to the classic skin. You'll
know you have the modern skin enabled if you hear the words, player window,
and if you aren't able to perform some functions like you could in previous
versions. Switch to the classic skin in the skins section of the
preferences and you should be fine.
By the way, if you'd like to subscribe to the Winamp4TheBlind, or w4tb list
as we like to call it, you can visit
http://www.shannon.reece.net/Winamp4TheBlind.html
Note that you should have basic windows skills under your belt first,
before joining. If you're a beginner to windows and how it works, Winamp is
likely to confuse you and you may be better off starting with another media
player first. But if you're proficient with the windows OS and you know
how to handle complex menu systems and other non-standard interfaces then
it may be for you, and everyone else reading this as well.

Also, for the Winamp beginner, let me recommend,
http://www.acbradio.org/winamp.html
that's a beginners Winamp tutorial written by Jonathan Mosen. It's a bit
old but most of the information still applies.
Hope that helps.

documentation regarding installation of this program?

I concur with your changing the subject of my previous message. I also
