Re: Winamp v5.35 sluggishness
I've actually noticed that with the last few versions...Haven't figured a way to speed it up. Though, sometimes after I defrag my drive or have run Norton Win Doctor, it's a bit faster for a while for some reason. --- Visit me on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/wesderby Now, I actually remember to log in and check it! I notice it if I start it via the desktop icon, by right clicking a folder and playing it in winamp, or through the start menu. It takes 15-30 seconds to start playing a song and almost that long before I can do anything inside winamp like adjust the volume, fast forward, rewind, etc. Anyone have any suggestions for fixing this problem? I'm considering uninstalling it and installing a slightly older version. I was hoping for a better solution first. Thanks, Jason No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Re: Winamp v5.35 sluggishness
Mine's definitely more stable, but slow to initially load. 5.35 has finally solved that annoying problem I had for a year or so where the whole computer would crash if I loaded a CD via Winamp without holding down the Shift key when closing the door. --- Visit me on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/wesderby Now, I actually remember to log in and check it! Re: Winamp v5.35 sluggishness
I haven't noticed sluggishness either, except for the last few times when waiting for the stream to start playing on PBS FM (www.pbsfm.org.au), but I think this had more to do with the stream than Winamp, as I was using 5.35 for some time before those instances. I'm admittedly not a power user, but normally it only takes a few seconds before it starts playing one of my files. (I haven't been opening Winamp first, just launching the file from Windows Explorer, from the list in the folder it's saved in - by hitting Enter on it.)
