Ok, so that's obviously what I've done that's stuffed that up, I don't like the default Winamp plug-in as it doesn't seem as easy to configure as the other one available, can't remember the name of it off hand. Winamp Volume problem
I have a strange issue with the volume in WINAMP that I never used to have. In order to get WINAMP volume at a decent level, I need to turn my main speakers up quite loud. This makes JAWS volume way over the top. I decided to go into volume control and adjust my WAV volume so JAWS would speak quieter, and WINAMP would be loud enough. Apparently WINAMP isn't controlled by the Master volume, and when I lower JAWS, it also lowered WINAMP to where I could barely hear it. How can I get the WINAMP volume to be acceptable, and yet still have JAWS lowered enough that it's not yelling at me? I'm using JAWS 8 and WINAMP 5.32. I'm planning to upgrade to 5.34. I have a Santa Cruise Turtle Beach sound card, but there doesn't seem to be any place to adjust for volume there. Thanks. Re: Winamp & Volume control
You use the up and down arrows to control the volume in Winamp. - Original Message - From: "Marsha" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: Winamp & Volume control
Hi Marsha, do you have the appropriate box checked in the output section of the Winamp preferences? To check if you do, what you'll need to do is open the preferences, control plus p. In the tree view, select output, and in the list of plugins, you'll need to select Nullsoft waveout. Next, tab to the configure button. In that dialogue, there *should* be a checkbox that says, volume control enable. If this box is not checked, you'll need to check it. Next there's a checkbox that says volume control alt. setting method slow. If both these boxes are checked, then you should be able to at least control the volume of Winamp independent of your software speech. I don't know if this extends to the hotkeys for any application in windows, but this is a starting point at least. Hope that gets you somewhere. Not sure if it'll fix the problem with the hotkeys like I said but it's a start. At 03:21 PM 6/10/2006, you wrote: > I just downloaded Winamp 523. Winamp & Volume control
I just downloaded Winamp 523. There doesn't seem to be a way to change the volume in Winamp. The Global (?) short cut keys said to use "Alt+control+up or down" to control the volume from any application. This doesn't seem to work. Does it work for others? What settings would be helpful? Re: controlling winamp volume, was: Question for you steve
I find it only works if I use SQR 1.75. My problem with that method of doing things that files more than an hour long get messed up where timing is concerned. After an hour, it starts counting negative time and if I fastforward, the show either stops completely, or restarts. All SQR plugins like that even not 1.75 did this on my new XP system here. I went retro to oldversion.com and got winamp 2.95 or whatever, the last of what isn't the new changed interface. - Original Message - From: "Dean Martineau" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. The Winamp volume can be regulated with arrows in the Winamp main window such that Winamp and JAWS volumes are set independently. Concise and efficient coverage of this matter is easy to come by if you use JAWS. Re: winamp volume going down with fast forward and rewind
Try changing your output in Winamp preferences. You might have Directsound output, you could change to waveout. You can also change the directsound output fading settings. Also, the repeat rate of your keyboard may be to high for Winamp to keep up with the current output settings. I have this problem sometimes with CDs but not right now with mp3s. - Original Message - From: "hf" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > I had to reinstall the newest winamp and got a weird thing happening. winamp volume going down with fast forward and rewind
I had to reinstall the newest winamp and got a weird thing happening. Every time I fast forward or rewind the volume goes down and comes back up when done rewinding or fast forwarding. It use to rewind and/or fast forward all at one volume. If I hold the right or left arrow key for more than 3 seconds, I have no volume. Can I get it back to what it use to be. Fast forwarding and rewinding all at the same volume. Skimming through a file is very hard right now because of this. Any help would be appreciated..
