Re: Windows Media Player controls

2010-03-24 Thread Robert Logue

That's pretty good trial and error, David.

The reason I'm sticking with WMP 10 is I find it easier to navigate with
Jaws. Oh, and I also think it sounds better than 11. But, that is a
subjective opinion based on hearing 11 on a friend's computer then roling it
back to 10. My friend also felt 11 didn't sound so good.

Thanks for your tips, David. I'll probably being using 12 when I get
Windows 7. Hope the interface isn't to messed up with Jaws.

Bob

Hi Bob,

I found the modifiers by trial and error, just hoping that there might be
some way to change the increment. I've since seen them mentioned for wmp 12
on a microsoft windows blog, but it seems crazy that they are not included
in the list of shortcuts in help.

Thanks for the clarification, David. How did you find those modifiers for 11

Hi Bob,

the modifiers work in wmp 11, and wmp 12 on windows 7, but I've been told that
they don't work on wmp 10. However, even for wmp 11, and 11 the modifiers
aren't listed in the help files.

David.

I wonder if those modifiers work with WMP 10 because I never got them to do
anything different on my two computers running 10. Are the modifiers listed in
the help file? I couldn't find them. Maybe they only work in WMP 11?

Hi Dane,

the seek increment for the arrow keys is one twentieth of track length. Other
increments are available using modifier keys:
1. ctrl + arrow keys, one fifth of track length.
2. shift + arrow keys, one four hundredth of track length.
3. ctrl + shift + arrow keys, one eight thousandth of track length.

Hello Dane,
You can use any of your arrow keys to move back and forth in an audio file.
But you have to have the seek window in your focus.
hope this helps.
My best regards.
 John.

Well no it doesn't really because I already knew what you told me
smile, what I'm wondering is how do you adjust the amount of time each
arrow key moves through the file.
