Re: CD burner question
Hi Don, using burnaware free, then after you've added the tracks that you want to burn, if you tab to the list of tracks, then using either the edit menu or the context menu you can move tracks up or down. In addition these commands and the shortcuts ctrl+up arrow, and ctrl+down arrow. CD BURNER IN WINAMP

Tascam CD Burner
Hi All, This question is for anyone who uses a Tascam CD Burner. When you burn a CD from a record album or cassette, you need to mark the tracks in between songs in order to be able to go from one track to another. However, what I want to do is put a CD in the single-play slot of my CD carousel and then copy that to a blank CD using the Tascam. Now my question is this, since the CD already has the tracks marked between songs, do you still need to do that manually or will the Tascam pick that up from the master CD? Thanks much for any help you can give. I've never copied a CD this way, so I am not sure how it works. Kris To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Re: Free CD Burner?
Hi dean, Try this, If You still have deep burner and are trying to add files to the compilation hit the tab key to move the focus from the tree view into the list view then you can press either shift-f10 or go straight to the edit menu to add the tracks to the layout. Hope this helps. Tony - Original Message - From: "Dean Masters" To: "PC Audio" Sent: Friday, January 02, 2009 7:02 AM Subject: Free CD Burner? Fred's Head Companion recently highlighted a CD/DVD Burner which was free and has a very screen reader friendly interface. You can read about it at http://www.fredshead.info/2008/11/burning-data-to-dvd-in-windows-xp.html I have briefly accessed the interface and it does appear to be very accessible but haven't tried burning anything with it. RE: Audio cd burner
I don't know when I'll get to writing more specific instructions, but I'll try to do so. I may record them. Basically, you open the program, hit alt-a for audio and hit enter. The trick is to then navigate to the folder where your audio files are. When you find that folder, you navigate through it. When you find an audio file to add to the compilation, hit alt+d. As I mentioned in the recording, JAWS doesn't read this listing perfectly; System Access and window-Eyes both do. With JAWS, use the read current line hotkey, by default insert+up arrow, to make sure you're really on the audio file you think you're on. Hi. I think express burn will do this. You could also use windows media player. Larry, You may also want to get a can of spray air to blow the entire machine out periodically. You can also put the tiny straw on it and blow out the cd/dvd wells when you dont want to open your box. How come you say to reboot? What's the purpose? If it has something to do with not working the CD drive/burner too hard, why not just stop burning CDs for a few minutes or hours or whatever? Am I missing something? I'd love to know how to take bst care of my equipment. - Original Message - From: "Tim Grady" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: 2 CD burner questions
Steve, I regularly burn a number of CD's in a session and have experienced no problems. As to lifetime of the burner, I've probably burned in excess of 100 CD's with this burner so far and no signs of any problems there either. 2 CD burner questions
Hi, this is Steve with 2 CD burning questions. problem with my CD burner
I've started having a strange problem with my CDRW drive. First: CDEX can't see any tracks on the drive. Second, CD Copier won't copy disks. The copy button is unavailable. Third: I use a special CD reader for Winamp. It no longer works and returns an ASPI failure message. The strange thing is that the normal Winamp CD output plugin works correctly and plays the audio CD. I can also copy data to and from disks. This is a fairly new Asus 52x CDRW drive on Win98se. I checked my cable connection and tried to reinstall Adaptech aspi layer without success. My next idea is to uninstall and reinstall the software that came with the drive. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Re: Recomendation needed for cd burning software that will work with Plextor cd burner.
Hi Daniel make sure you have the latest updates, from Roxio and it will work fine. Look for basic 6 updates. Randy Jones Hmmm well, that's the first place I went after the Plextor site, and it told me in some of the trouble shooting articles I read that version 6 is not supported by Win '98 first eddition. I didn't see anywhere that said anything about updates. Also the software I was trying to install was on the cd bundled with the burner, and it also told me that this version of EZ cd creator is not supported under windows '98 gold operating system. since that was the software bundled with the burner, and you'd imagine that's OEM software and would let you install it since you have allready installed the burner, how do you get these updates with out having to pay for the whole software package? Btw, thanks to all the guys who have given me tips for nero software, I've found an install for version 6. something, and I'll see how that works and let the list know. Btw I too am using Window-eyes and so I'm grateful to the folks who have told me that this should work with my screen reader. As I say, I'll keep you updated as to how it goes. I did manage to make diskjuggler work successfuly, but only once, and that was only because I had an existing .iso image on my cd drive which was made with another burning program. the trouble came when I tried to make another image from files I allready had on one of my drives. No way could I figure out how to drag/drop files or even in to which window you were supposed to put them. The whole diskjuggler program is nothing but an MDI frame, and you wouldn't believe how bloody dificult it is to navigate around in! Anyhow thanks to those who were able to give me some good advice. regards; Daniel gobeil --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Hi Daniel, I don't have a plextor drive, nor do I know if nero will support it; but I do have instructions on using nero and it is quite accessible and has plenty of keyboard shortcuts ta boot. Once we find out if nero supports it, if you want I'll send you the instructions for using it if things should proceed in that direction. Re: Recomendation needed for cd burning program that will work with Plextor cd burner
Hello Daniel, I don't have that specific Plextar model, but Nero 6 does work with the external Plextalk unit I own. Go to the Nero web site and try out their demo. It's fully functional so you'll know if it works or not ahead of time. Recomendation needed for cd burning program that will work with Plextor cd burner
Hi listers, I haven't posted to this list but I'm an occasional reader. what I need is some recomendations for a cd burning program that will work on win '98 first eddition with a new plextor burner. the model number is Plextor cd-r Px-W5224A. I've tried installing EZ cd Creator 6, which came bundled with it, but it tells me that '98 FE doesn't support it. then I went to their site, Plextor's that is, to see which software their drives supported. diskjuggler 4.0 was one of them and GearPro was another one. I tried diskjuggler but that one, and the Plextools software that comes with it are both Drag and drop software, and there are no keyboard shortcuts even mentioned. what I need to know is does anyone have one of these burners, and if so, does anyone know some software that will work like EZ cd Crator but is supported on Win '98 First Eddition? I'd like to get Ez Cd Crator 5. something which may work with this burner. I don't mind there being new software, but jeez, let them at least realize that not everyone can drag and drop with a bloody flippin' mouse! anyone tried any version of Nero software with this burner? Anyone, help!!! Regards; Daniel gobeil --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). I have Easy Cd Creator and nero both on the same system and it is working fine. This is on an XP pro system. You can use Easy CD Creater 5 basic to extract cd's. I'm not sure if you can leave both Nero and Easy CD Creater. I think you can except for the Direct CD subprogram and Nero's equivilent. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I believe Nero will abort installing if it finds Directcd on the system.
