Installing the LAME Encoder
Hi List. I've been looking around the web for help on how to install the LAME Encoder, big mistake. My heads fare deived! IE I'm extremely confused! Can someone please tell me where I place the unzipped LAME encoder in a Windows 7 64 bit machine? Ideally, this will be somewhere that means whatever program needs access, will have access. Or, do I have to place it in a specific folder for each and every program that needs it? Many thanks for any help. A lame encoder question re-posted
Hi all, I just downloaded the lame encoder to my desktop. I copied the file into the following folder but MP3DirectCut says it does not find it: C::\Program Files\MP3DirectCut\. Please, someone nicely tell me what I am doing wrong, and then, tell me how to install the Lame program into the appropriate MP3DC folder. Thank you, Johnny Student of happiness To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

I don’t have total Recorder but I have faced this situation with Exact Audio copy. I visit the Lame website and download the latest release as tested by the gurus at Hydrogen Audio. I unzip the packet and copy the lame.exe file and drop it into the program file, copying over the current lame.exe file in the folder. Kelly On 4/7/10, Donald L. Re: a somewhat techie question about the LAME encoder and Total Recorder
Hi Larry, Did you get the full lame release? I mean did you get the razorlame which I would call a front end for the lame encoder? Here you can make a number of adjustments to the encoder. However, I am not sure if those adjustments will be passed to gold wave when you use the encoder. This is probably a dumb question, but if you record to .wav format, do you get the image shift? Not sure this waffle helps, but it might help a little. Just a lame excuse don't you know. Re: a somewhat techie question about the LAME encoder and Total Recorder
Hi Joe, I think I have a copy of Razorlame on the puter somewhere. Actually, I was making the recording using Total Recorder. Also, I managed to find the settings I was looking for, at least some of them. I really felt kinda silly after I realized where they were located, under changes in the Recording source and parameters tab. I think the shift may now be gone, but I'll keep listening lest they turn up again. I will also put TR through the .wav test to make sure that the problem doesn't some how rest with either my XM receiver, or maybe those shifts were introduced into the reproduction I was recording by the producers for reasons known only to them g. Hope you'll hang in there with me, because I might need some help with the finer points of using Razorlame. Thanks for your suggestions, Larry At 09:19 AM 3/30/2005, you wrote: Hi Larry, Did you get the full lame release? I mean did you get the razorlame which I would call a front end for the lame encoder?
