The .reg extension mostly likely means that it has registry settings in 
it. lm could be the name of the application that created it or maybe 
it's short for local machine. Have you installed anything or run a 
registry cleaner recently? If you don't know where it came from, and 
your system is running OK, then I'd move it off your desktop and either 
just delete it or move it somewhere in case you find you need it in the 
future.

This file has found it's way to my desktop.  Does anyone know what it 
is?  when I click on it it want's to add something to my registry, 
but I just tell it no as I don't know what it is for.
