I tryed replay av, but I have not understood in the scheduler how do you set the end time for a recording. there's some setting for the star time, but I have not found how to specify a duration or a end time. *** REPLY SEPARATOR *** On 24/04/2006 at 09:20 Gary King wrote: Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to use the URL Finder with a dialup connection. Hello: the first set refers to the starting time and you can use up, down, left and right arrow to set up the hour minute and either P.M. or A.M. so once you set up the starting time of your show then tab 1 more time and you'll be placed on another set where you can setup the ending time. but if your show has been taken from the guide by adding it the time should already be scheduled. hth Juan - Original Message - From: Arnaud de Bonald [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. From a sound quality perspective, I've been very happy with the external USB soundblaster audigy card that I've got hooked up between my HP laptop and Linn hi-fi system. It's capable of 24 bit processing and only cost around £45. Kevin E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - Original Message - From: Reed Poynter [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 'PC audio discussion list. HI, I was going to send this offline, but decided maybe I wasn't the only one who could use the answer.Could you speak a little more on virtual cables? line in on a laptop: was RE: Re[2]: replay-AV weirdness
Hi. I may have some bad news about your laptop. I have a laptop that I use, and it does not have a line in jack. It has just the one for a microphone. Windows does show line in on the volume control, but I suspect it's there for all PCs whether they have a line in jack or not. Just for your info. That's what my laptop has as well, and that really doesn't allow me to do much with recording. Jim - Original Message - From: Kevin Minor [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. Yes generally if you want line in, you'll need to get a port replicator or docking station for your laptop. I use Line In all the time with my IBM Think pad, but it requires the port replicator. RE: Re[2]: replay-AV weirdness
Hi Patrick, using Replay AV's URL finder, I have not yet found an embedded player I couldn't record from. Works really well and of course an added benefit is that you can then use Replay AV to tune into the stream at any time, even if you don't want to record it, and bypass the embedded player. Subject: Re[2]: replay-AV weirdness Hello Chris, On Sunday, April 23, 2006, 12:29:27 AM, you bellowed the following: i learned that some streams *must* be recorded using your sound card. I didn't think so but it's true. For this, I tend to use Virtual audio Cable. Yesterday, I had to record four hours from a stream which used one of those imbedded players. What I did to get around this was to open up sound forge, set it to the input on one of the virtual audio cables, set my default sound card to the virtual cable's output, load the stream, then change the default playback device back to my onboard sound card. This was done with a laptop and it worked great. replay-AV weirdness
I made two recordings of the same show at the same time this afternoon. It was prairie Home Companion starting at 3 to 5 pm my time from KPCC in Pasadena and WXVU in CinCinatti. Well, the WXVU cut off a little after 4:30, kpcc taped till five. I checked the schedule and they were both supposed to go till five. Also the WBAI signal will not record at all since it says it is corrupt. Let us know what the show is and some of us will try it out. Re: replay-AV weirdness
hi. This is always possible due to the kind of stream you have, plus i learned that some streams *must* be recorded using your sound card. I didn't think so but it's true. Either way, what I would do, in order to make life a whole lot simpler is to just find one stream and stick with it. Keeps you from having multiple recordings of the same show, plus it takes up much less hard drive space. Also it's always entirely possible that the stream could experience a problem while you're recording. These things aren't like over-the-air radio signals. They're sent to you through the net, and if you get one little packet of information out of place, it could spell trouble. and I won't even go into how frustrating it is to lose your internet connection while recording a stream, grr. So with so many factors in place, it's amazing that we can do all this stuff. At 11:03 PM 4/22/2006, you wrote: I made two recordings of the same show at the same time this afternoon.
