Re: streaming with realplayer 10 queery
usually, a streaming difficulty, especially when viewing or listening to something that is over 300 kbps, is caused by slow latency. trying pinging http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/video/daily.jsp and if you get responses slower then 250ms, then try running a traceroute on the above URL. if you got longer response times towards the end of the traceroute results, then it's a problem with the server that your watching, in this case mlb.com, but if you get slow responses at the beginning of the test, then it's a problem with your ISP, in which case you should contact them with your results and ask them to run some tests and hopefully sort out the problem for you. also, i would suggest trying to find yourself a free http proxy server, which you can do by running a search in www.google.com for free http proxy servers. try and use one that's located as close to you as possible and prior to setting the server and port up in real player, try pinging it to make sure you get quick response times. if you want any further advice, please write me offline and i'll help you anyway i can. cheers. marco. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
streaming with realplayer 10 queery
hi, this isn't a major problem more of an irritant. but when listen/watching streams using realplayer, specifically most common is mlb.tv streams. occasionally the audio pauses for a second or two, like it's rebuffering, but it literally lasts a second or two. there's no consistancy as too when this happens. also, i've no idea if the actual picture glitches at the same time. it's a 350k stream, i'm on a broadband connection, using win XP. can someone tell me if there are specific settings within realplayer i should set in a certain way to get the best audio stream? i can't see the video stream so i don't care about that, it's the audio quality i'm after! i'm listening to a game now and there's been no glitches for 3 minutes, until now, when it paused for about a second and is normal again. email or msn [EMAIL PROTECTED] cheers - kevin ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
