re audible downloads

2013-03-14 Thread brian parker
Hi joe, i am having the same problem that you had. i sent an e.mail
to audible, which they haven't answered. on the other hand, it didn't
bounce, so presumably it went to the right address. i still can't
download the books i have bought. brian.

playing a music file in windows 7

2013-03-14 Thread Adrien Collins
Hi

I seem to be experiencing problems when playing music files
in windows 7, in xp you can just press enter on a music file
and it'll start playing but in windows 7 I have to use the
context menu or application key and press play to get it to
play with winamp, what am I doing wrong? Also, I noticed a
media info button in the context menu, what program put this
there please?

Downloading MusicHi All,

Finally looking to join 21st century, although did have vinyl out last
night!

Rather than buying CD's, ripping them and putting them in a box in the
loft, looking for recommendation of simple MP3 download site that is
good value and accessible.

Whilst I use an I phone I have no interest in I tunes.

Thanks for your thoughts

RE:

2013-03-14 Thread Blackwell, Clifford
Check out http://www.emusic.com It started out as a site that emphasized
alternative and independent artists and has slowly migrated to a more
mainstream offering. There's still plenty of the edgy stuff though!

They've just started offering "a la carte" purchasing, about $10 U.S. per
album. If you purchase a monthly membership, you can get most track for
between $.49 and $.99 They have some pretty good specials from time to time.

You do need to download and install a Download Manager from their site which is
inaccessible, but once you get it installed, you don't really need to do
anything with it. For the most part, the site is accessible though they're
running a "contest" right now that is not and the Customer Service is terrible,
but I seldom need to deal with them.

A Couple Questions About Freemake Audio Converter

2013-03-14 Thread Evan Reese
Guys, I've installed this Freemake Audio Converter, and done some file
conversions with it. It's (mostly) accessible with my Window Eyes 8.1, and it
does exactly what I want it to do, that is, convert my mp3 files into m4a
files, sounding the same but saving me on storage space. It'll even convert
multiple files at once, so I can convert whole albums at a time. And, it
preserves most of the audio tags. So I like the program overall and I want to
use it. However, I just had a couple of questions:

I can't figure out how to tell it where to put the converted files. That's a
minor annoyance, but the bigger problem is that it is making two of every
converted file. Except for the filenames, of course, they are exactly the same,
making the conversions twice as long and then causing me to have to delete the
duplicates. Anyone seen this and know how to stop it, and does anyone know of a
way to tell it where to put its converted files? There doesn't look to be any
option for that in the menus anywhere.

Thanks much.

Hi

On my pc, I have been through the winamp settings, I had to
uncheck and then recheck all the winamp file settings to get
it to show in the context menu, not sure. Could be that
another program has taken over.

Re: A Couple Questions About Freemake Audio Converter

2013-03-14 Thread Dean Masters
I don't use the audio converter but do use the video converter which will
convert only to mp3.

so in the video converter you choose which files you want to convert then go
to the convert menu and select which format you wish to save the files in.
Then a dialog comes up where you can tab to change preset to change the
quality of the file. If you keep tabbing you will come to a button that just
says ... which is three dots. Enter on this to choose where to save your
converted files. in the video converter the only two things in the dialog
after this is a checkbox to import into iTunes and tab once more to the
convert button.

I have no idea why it is putting two copies of the same song together.

Question About Free You Tube Converter

2013-03-14 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hello List: I am trying to convert a You Tube Video to MP3, using Free You
Tube Converter. But am not having luck (I know I have used the program before)
but it seems to not be giving me what I want! Have they changed something,
causing it to not be accessible? Maybe I need someone to send me precise
instructions as to how to use this program, but it's just not letting me find
what I think I'm supposed to find!  Or maybe it's my computer that is at fault;
maybe it's just too slow to respond to the commands or something! I keep
tabbing..but it's taking me nowhere! I see a video that I have converted from
a good while ago..but it's not letting me get off of that spot! I'm sorry that
I am unable to explain this any better! Am using Jaws 14 and Windows XP.
Hopefully someone here can understand what it is I'm trying to say and can help
me figure out what is going on here!
Thanks,
Tom Kaufman

Re: A Couple Questions About Freemake Audio Converter

2013-03-14 Thread Evan Reese
Thanks Dean, I accidentally solved the problem of the duplicate files. I
created a preset, and then the program didn't create duplicates anymore.
Strange but true.

I saw that button, but I guess I wasn't feeling adventurous enough to press
it and see what would happen.

Thanks again.
