[PD] Fwd: lunix laptop studio with PD

2011-01-27 Thread dom kun
hello again !

well, that's exactly what i tried.
in PD Media - Jack i can change the outputs but it always falls back to 2
outputs
even if i disable the checkbox.
also tried modding the .pdsettings where i changed the flags: -outchannels 8
odd, no?

also edited jacks patchbay to have 8 inputs from puredata labeled output0 to
output7.
dac in PD is assigned to [dac~ 1 2 3 4 5]
PD output message...

error: signal outlet connect to nonsignal inlet (ignored)

thanks for your help, Dominik

I think you need to enable Activate Patchbay persistance in qjackctl

Try disis_wiimote from the L2ork software page which uses threaded
implementation and is dsp-safe even when sending cues back to wiimote (which
otherwise cause consistent xruns). We use it regularly even at heavy cpu
loads and it is rock solid (Linux only).

 Cheers!

Is there also help-file / help-patch available for [disis_wiimote]? Or
is it supposed to work the same as the [wiimote] it is based on (can't
test right now).

Re: [PD] Combining two audio signals

2011-01-27 Thread J bz
Hi Lorenzo,

Yes, I should get into using [lop~] more for this kind of thing, instead of
reverting to [line/~] which doesn't work as well in this instant.

Many thanks,

Julian

 Hey all,

I have two audio signals, 1 instrument input and then some processing of
 the instrument.

What I want is for the processing to work like [swap] where when the
instrument is loud the processing is quiet and vice versa.

My question is how can I do this smoothly without there being big jumps at
the beginning and end of the processed sound?

You should find a way to smooth out the volume 'jumps', as I guess from
what you write that the changes are triggered by some sort of envelope
 following.

One trick might be to smooth out these jumps with a lowpass filter [lop~]
with fairly low cut-off frequency (around 10 Hz for e.g.).
Otherwise using [line~] can also be used to smooth non-continuous messages.

 Lorenzo.

 Julian

I can find any way to update from synaptic -is there a way I can get this

2011-01-27 Thread András Murányi
Hello Yvan,

i'm no compilation expert, (therefore) i would take a look if there is
indeed an m_pd.h at /PATH/TO/PD/SRC
If yes, the makefile might be broken, if not, you'll have to set
/PATH/TO/PD/SRC
to whereever m_pd.h can be found.
Also, i think, the less complicated (which is, an absolute
path) /PATH/TO/PD/SRC, the more bulletproof.

You get an error:
 /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lpd
On linux you don't need lpd, it looks like you're compiling a windows version.

 hi,
trying to build pool from latest svn (and latest pd git) I get this error:

am I missing a path or something ?
./configure --with-sysdir=/PATH/TO/PD/SRC did find pd headers and all,
now I have no idea about what is going wrong...

 any hint is much appreciated,

 cheers,
 _y
