Re: [PD] text to sound

2012-06-11 Thread Alexandre Lard
Hello,

I did something last year, based on a patch by Philippe Boisnard.
It's some kind of a typewriter.
The patch can read a textfile (and only that) and send each letter to
different selectors.
Each letter is associated to a number which is also turned into a frequency
using [mtof]
And then ...
In fact with this patch, once who are able to select each letter, you can
do anything you want with it.

Here is a sample.
Tell me if you want to have a closer look to the patch.

Hope it can be useful.

there is also one for espeak library which is quite nice because you can
easily change pronunciation (voice) and pitch.

Re: [PD] beginner's question - counter inside a counter?

2010-11-20 Thread Alexandre Lard
Hello,

Not sure it's the best way to do it
but as a beginner too, i would do it this way

2010/11/20 2bad4...@london.com

 Hello,

I have built a counter that counts from 1 to 19 and then starts again
 from the beginning.

It reads the values from the array. However I would like it to stop after
it reads the values three times. I was thinking of using another counter to
do that. Any suggestions? Where should I put the other counter and how would
 it work?

  Thanks for your help.

[PD] how to split characters in a message

2010-09-02 Thread Alexandre Lard
Hi list,

I must have missed something but I can't find how to separate each character
of a word in a message box to a list.
Example:

word
|
w o r d

Hope my question doesn't seem too stupid. :$
Thanks for your help.

Re: [PD] how to split characters in a message

2010-09-02 Thread Alexandre Lard
Thanks !
The answer was not exactly this one but it was in symbol2list (how did I
missed it ?)

using a zero-symbol as delimiter will break the symbol up into its
characters.

symbol test
|
| symbol
|/
symbol2list
|
|
unpack s s s s
\ \ \ \
 t e s t

Thanks very much !
